UFC CEO, Dana White is a key factor in why the UFC’s popularity and notoriety have skyrocketed throughout the years. The promotion currently stands at over $12 billion net worth and only seems to be growing. However, the success isn’t likely to not have come without sacrifice.

During the recent episode of the pound4pound, White claimed that while he was building the UFC, he had a policy of not attending any weddings, even the weddings of the people close to him. His dedication seemed commendable till this point but unfortunately, he wouldn’t stop there as he would go on to reveal how he moved the date of his son’s birth for the convenience of a fight.
During the podcast, he stated, “When I was building this business, I had a blanket policy. I did not go to anybody’s wedding didn’t f***ing matter who you were, how close you were to me. I didn’t go to anybody’s wedding. Weddings take time and energy. My son, Aiden, his due date was Chuck Liddell versus somebody I moved the date of his birth for the Chuck Lidell fight. Yeah, so yeah, that ain’t gonna work. We got to play a big fight coming up, so my wife had a C-section.”
Whites’s statement didn’t seem to sit too well with fight fans as they criticized the UFC CEO for boasting about something that some found insensitive. Here are some of the fan reactions:
A fan felt disappointed with the UFC CEO’s comments and wrote; “Worst brag I’ve seen in a while”
Another fan was left confused and startled as he commented saying, “Bro I’m confused why this impresses people. You had your son cut out of your wife because the due date didn’t suit you”
One left a humourous comment on the post, which wrote; “this man pre-ordered his sons”
One took the reference to a comic book villain to show how devious White’s comment sounded; “That’ll make the Joker from Batman step back and gasp”
However, White’s comments didn’t seem to phase the UFC fighters too much as their comments differed from the fans as they seemed to praise the UFC CEO.
Former welterweight champ, Kamaru Usman wrote; “That how you “Stand on Business”
34-year-old, UFC middleweight, Bruno Silva wrote; “Business first”
And UFC flyweight, Tracey Cortez wrote, “Dam(with laughing emojis)”
The UFC CEO, Dana White, seems to have gotten through to with his fighters over the comment. However, the same can’t be said for a former UFC champ.
