Dana White had a classic response for everyone who asked about the secret to his success. He once said, “I’m a guy who did exactly what he wanted to do. When you do that, the money follows.” It’s only because of White that the UFC has now reached a value beyond $12 billion. Who would have thought that a man owing money to a mob boss could build such an empire in the fight business? But if you think he has only invested himself in the UFC, you’d be so wrong.
Today, let’s take a deep dive and learn all about the UFC head honcho’s businesses outside the UFC. From slapping to surfing, we’ll cover it all.

About 1 year ago, during his appearance on the Rock Sugar Magic podcast, the UFC CEO revealed how far he’s stretched his wings. He said, “So over the last couple of years, I have dove into many businesses. I own a company called Throw One with the Fertitta brothers. We hold Ridiculousness, which is on MTV. We own Nitro Circus, we own SLS Skate League, and Travis Pastors Nitro Cross. I love brand building, and we are having a blast with that. We are about to get a residency here in Vegas at the Paris with Nitro Circus.”
Thrill One Sports and Entertainment controls the properties of Nitrocross, Nitro Circus, and Street League Skateboarding. Dana White became the co-owner of the company back in 2022. This was indeed the one move that boosted the $300 million worth skateboarding promotion to great heights. Even the CEO of Thrill One, Matt Cohn, once said, “In terms of game changers, Dana White is the ultimate game changer.”
When it comes to surfing, White was an executive producer of The Ultimate Surfer. But unlike his other ventures, The Ultimate Surfer didn’t really receive enough viewership. Less than 1.5 million people decided to tune in to the ABC surfing competition show. This led to its eventual cancelation.
But it’s actually PowerSlap, that gave White the maximum return. According to reports and White’s claims, this was the venture that surpassed every other major sports promotion.
Does Dana White own Power Slap?
PowerSlap is yet another business that the UFC CEO co-founded with the Fertitta brothers. It all started when a slap-fighting competition on social media in 2017 caught White’s attention. He knew that bringing in slap-fighting would be the next big thing in the world of fight promotion. Owning PowerSlap is indeed the biggest sword in White’s arsenal.
During the conversation in the Rock Sugar Magic podcast, White weighed in on how well PowerSlap has performed. He claimed, “This thing is a f—ing juggernaut. Everybody thought I was full of s— in the beginning. But, if you take the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, UFC, WWE, NASCAR, Formula One, PGA and a couple others I can’t remember, you combine all their social media numbers together and multiply it by four, Power Slap beats them.”
PowerSlap has climbed to a value of more than $750 million. This crossed all expectations when PowerSlap got more than 5.4 million followers on Instagram. Despite what many might think, White’s slap-fighting venture is indeed on the run, extracting reactions even from Jon Jones, and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
And now, the UFC head honcho has decided to get his feet planted in the squared ring as well. You heard it right! Dana White wants to get into boxing.
Dana White announces new boxing venture involving TKO
White claimed that the world of boxing has been facing quite some issues and decided to swoop down to help the sport. Judging from the success his other ventures have experienced, it wouldn’t take much time for White’s boxing plans to raise the bars of the sweet science. During a conversation with Sports Business Journal, White said, “There’s no secret that I’m in talks with boxing right now. Hopefully, if this happens, we’d have a deal done and announced in January or February. But yeah, I’m interested. Obviously, boxing is so messed up. It took Saudi money to make some of these fights that people wanted to see and to sort of get the sport moving again.”
The 55-year-old UFC CEO built the UFC from the ground. It wasn’t on any broadcasting channel. There were no PPVs. Even the Octagon was made of wood with only 13 contracts in the promotion back in 2001. But now, the situation has completely changed. White believed that he would have to do a similar job in boxing.

But wait! White is definitely not stopping with MMA, boxing, and slaps. He also announced that he would soon step into promoting BJJ. No wonder he signed Mikey Musumeci up for a UFC invitational. White announced, “Over the course of the last year, I’ve been working on developing the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program in the world. I am excited to announce that we’ve signed Mikey Musumeci to the first-ever exclusive BJJ promotional agreement in the company’s history.”
