Conor McGregor fans may finally get what they’ve been waiting for! The Irish MMA icon’s return to the UFC has been the source of much discussion and speculation in the MMA fandom. McGregor has been out of competition for nearly 3 years since his loss and injury at UFC 264 in 2021 against Dustin Poirier.

Since then, there have been numerous updates and false alarms about his return. However, in a recent statement, his manager indicated that a concrete date might be announced soon. The Irishman had recently also spoken about the toll the delay in his return has been taking on him. And with the latest revelation, both McGregor and his fandom may finally get some much-needed clarity on the situation!

During a recent conversation with The Mac Life, Conor McGregor made a stunning revelation about how the delay in his comeback had impacted him. He confessed, “…it keeps getting pushed back, then I lose interest and stop training for a while. Not stop training, I’m always training, but stop full training and (start) drinking a little bit.”

The Irish fighter had previously indicated that he would like to face Michael Chandler in June during the UFC’s International Fight Week. But while the UFC CEO Dana White has yet to make a confirmation regarding the same, McGregor’s manager, Audie Attar recently dropped a stunning bombshell regarding the fight.

In an interview with The Mac Life, Attar was asked, “Last one, it’s a cliché question, fight date, we still looking at June 29th, what are we thinking?” to which he enthusiastically responded by stating, “You’re gonna have an announcement real soon, stay tuned.”

While he didn’t elaborate further, his comments hint that there might be a possibility that the Michael Chandler proposition by McGregor may materialize soon. It’s also interesting to note that in the year 2024, the data released by the UFC shows that Conor McGregor has already been tested under the UFC’s post-USADA drug testing protocols 5 times!

Now, fans are eagerly awaiting more news regarding ‘The Notorious’s return to the Octagon. And during the promotion of the movie ‘Road House’, McGregor  also made some interesting revelations about his plans for the future! 

McGregor is done with movies and is aiming for redemption in the Octagon 

Conor McGregor, the former two-division UFC champion, has recently been busy promoting the “Road House” remake, in which he stars alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. But in a recent statement, ‘The Notorious’ indicated that while he appreciated the opportunity to star in the movie, he has no plans to pursue further acting roles.

In an interview with TalkSport MMA, McGregor revealed “There is no movies more for me” and went on to state that he has two fights left on his UFC contract. He stated that once his promotional duties for the film are done, “After that, it’s a closed door.  So I get to go in and close the door and map my plan. And then gym-home, gym-home, gym-home.”

Further into the conversation, he also indicated that with Dustin Poirier’s win at UFC 299, he might also be interested in taking on ‘The Diamond’ again. He stated, “It’s good to see Poirier get that win.  That makes this the quadrilogy.  We’ll say the real trilogy, the finish of it, to put an end to it, to put a finish to it.”

Overall, McGregor’s recent statements and his manager’s tease about an impending announcement signal positive developments in the saga of his comeback, offering hope to McGregor supporters worldwide and setting the stage for a potentially thrilling return to the UFC.
