There are rarely any walk-overs in the UFC. Boxing, for instance, is notorious for big stars, at the beginning of their careers being matched against at least a dozen journeymen, who are almost definitely going to lose. Nothing of this sort happens in the UFC. Fights in the UFC are almost always guaranteed to be competitive as both fighters are approximately on the same level.
For example, a top-five-ranked fighter isn’t going to be booked against an unranked opponent, unless it is for someone moving up or an inactive top-ranked fighter. But that doesn’t mean the fans always like the fights, since there are a lot of little-known fighters on the promotion’s around 600-strong roster. And this is exactly what played out when UFC CEO Dana White tried to hype up an upcoming Fight Night card, which has enticed the scorn of fans.
White took to social media to announce the card, per usual, and told fans that the UFC: Fight Night Vegas 94 card on July 21, will be led by a women’s strawweight bout between #3 ranked Amanda Lemos and #5 ranked Virna Jandiroba in a bout that will see one of them probably take their place behind undefeated #1 Tatiana Suarez for a title shot at reigning champ Zhang Weili.

The co-main event will see ‘TUF 11’ alumni Brad Tavares take on JunYong Park in a middleweight bout. Also featured on the main card will be a middleweight bout between #14 ranked flyweight Cody Durden and unranked Bruno Silva. Since there are no big names on the card, its announcement was not met with much enthusiasm from the fans. The latter, in fact, took to the comments section of Dana White’s announcement video to let their displeasure known.

One fan had nothing but vitriol for the Vegas card and loudly declared that the line-up will not go down well with any UFC fans: “Awful fight card. Main event should be a feature fight. NOBODY wants to see these women fight.”
Another seconded this sentiment, and called it a historically bad card: “One of the worst cards ever assembled literally one good fight.” One fan simply proclaimed that he couldn’t see anyone actually sitting down and watching the card: “Ain’t nobody watching this.”
One fan was split. While he lambasted the UFC CEO for the quality of the card, he also admitted that the card had some potentially cracking matchups, which he would probably watch and more importantly, enjoy: “Yeah Dana even you cannot hype up such a sh**ty card. That being said i will watch and the fight prob gonna be good.”

One fan found the whole thing hilarious and felt that snotty UFC fans will jump in to call anyone annoyed at the card ‘casuals’ and let he would rather watch slap fighting than the Fight Night Vegas 94 card: “Incoming hardcore fans calling anyone who deems this a shit card, a casual 😂 cope. Its a shit card, especially if its wmma main event lol worse than watching paint dry. I’d rather watch Power Slap than this 😂😂😂.” Powerslap as you are aware, is Dana White’s self-proclaimed prodigy, despite all the criticism and flak it has been receiving from fight pundits and enthusiasts alike.
