Tom Aspinall’s demanding that Jon Jones be stripped of the heavyweight title has been one of the most talked about issues in the UFC world. Even ‘Bones’s former rival Daniel Cormier seemed to agree with the interim champion. Meanwhile, UFC CEO Dana White has finally opened up on it. He did not seem too interested in Aspinall’s proposition.

Jon Jones made his return to UFC earlier this year after a three-year hiatus. He defeated Ciryl Gane in a dominating fashion to become a two-weight champion. Furthermore, he was supposed to fight Stipe Miocic at UFC 295, but he sustained an injury that caused the UFC to call off the fight. Jones will be away for a considerable amount of time, which prompted Tom Aspinall to demand that he vacate the title. However, Dana White is not buying that.

The UFC CEO appeared during the post-fight press conference of UFC Austin, where he addressed the things Tom Aspinall had to say about Jon Jones. He ignored the interim champion’s demands of stripping ‘Bones’ of the heavyweight title, mentioning the importance of his fight against Stipe Miocic.

“Both of those guys deserve it. You got the greatest mixed martial artist of all time versus the greatest heavyweight of all time,” said Dana White. He further mentioned that Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic are both in a position where they’ve given everything to the UFC. Also, the fact that they want to fight each other is enough for White to consider rebooking this fight when ‘Bones’ returns.

“They’ve paid their dues and they’ve done their things. These two want to fight each other. It’s going to happen,” The UFC CEO further stated. Thereafter, he also mentioned that what happens after the fight will depend on what Jon Jones or Stipe Miocic would like to do. Dana White added, “Whoever wins, we’ll see what they decide to do. After that, we’ll go from there.” Meanwhile, Jones also sounded off on Tom Aspinall in a tweet as well. Let’s take a look at that front.

Jon Jones made sure to remind Aspinall about his credentials

When the heavyweight champion heard about what Tom Aspinall had to say, he shared a message for him and made everything loud and clear. Jon Jones mentioned how he’s fought some of the best fighters that the UFC had to offer since he’s been in the promotion. Moreover, he also stressed the fact that he had never needed to get surgery until this time during his 15 years fighting for Dana White’s promotion.
