UFC’s September extravaganza at the Sphere is slowly but surely picking up pace after its ticket went on sale. The event is commemorating the Mexican Independence Day with the ticket prices topping off to $17,507. Dana White believes that the event is at par with any super event and is not willing to compromise on anything. However, the starting prices for the tickets will provide a relief to some of the fans out there. Speaking to Kevin Iole, White shared the details of the whole. Iole pointed out that he believed that the ticket prizes were starting at $3000.

However, White was quick to correct him and said, “No it’s $1500. The minimum price was $1500.” Iole was then quick to point out at that the event wouldn’t be getting many casual fans now because of the price. The UFC head honcho responded to the claims and further added, “Believe me we got plenty of casual fans. We study this s..t like f..ng science. Are you kidding me?”

He then pointed out that the UFC 306 event on September 14 was competitively priced and was at par with another event (Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga) which is taking place that night. ” This is on par with any big like Canelo fight. I’m in anywhere between 17 and 20 right now and the fight isn’t until September 14th. It’s on par with the Canelo fight,” added White.

White has done a fantastic job in setting up some exciting clashes for the night. However, there is one fighter who everyone thought would feature on the card – Max Holloway. For the prices of the event, Holloway would have been a treat for the fans in the arena. The BMF champion was highly affected by the decision and took to his X account to share his feelings.

Max Holloway opened up on social media after his UFC 306 snub

UFC 300 witnessed one of the iconic moments in the sport of MMA after Holloway knocked out Justin Gaethje in the dying stages of the last round. ‘Blessed’ not only won the fight but also earned the BMF title. He then took on the opportunity to call out featherweight champion Ilia Topuria for a clash. Most fans believed that the iconic fight would take place at the UFC 306 event in Las Vegas. The fight will definitely take place but the pair will now take on each other at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi as announced by Dana White. Holloway was highly disappointed by the move and took to his X account to share his feelings.

During the video, the 32-year-old said, “Feel Damaged bro. It’s Mexican Independence Day guys. You guys cannot have a Spaniard, who Mexicans got their Independence back from to headline on Mexican Independence Day.” He further added that everyone knew he was fighting at the Sphere except him. “I am gonna tell you guys but everybody knew that I was fighting in the Sphere except for me”, added Holloway. The BMF champion despite being ‘damaged’ will have to be at his best against Ilia Topuria at UFC 308.

This bout came about after Islam Makhachev seemingly ruled out a second fight this year over a lingering hand injury. With the star with the biggest Abu Dhabi fanbase unavailable for the annual PPV there, Holloway was the next best option atop a card stacked with the likes of Khamzat Chimaev and Robert Whittaker.
