As we inch closer than ever to the inaugural edition of Power Slap: Road to the Title, the excitement is building up. While there have been questions about the safety of athletes in the sport, Dana White has reinforced his belief that Power Slap is not a dangerous sport. In a recent talk that was shared on Twitter, Dana White compared Power Slap to boxing. He pulled out the stat that on average, a power slap athlete gets hit only 3-5 times per event, but a boxer may take 300-400 punches in a bout. The UFC president was also very clear in his approach and suggested fans watch the musical reality show ‘The Voice’ if the power slap disgusts them.
In Slap, they take 3 to 5 slaps per event. Fighters in boxing take 300 to 400 punches a fight.

White said, “We spend the money and make sure we have two healthy people in there, proper medical attention during and after the fight. These are all things that we need to educate people on. Just like we needed to educate people on Mixed Martial Arts. but in slap, they take three to five slaps per event, but fighters in boxing take 300-400 punches a fight.”
He further added, “Guess what? You know what my answer to that is? If you don’t f**** like it. Don’t watch it. Nobody is asking you to watch this. You are disgusted by it? Watch the voice “

Some find the sport too brutal, as the athletes can not defend themselves against slaps, and others don’t see any skill involved in the sport. White has been planning to make power slap a mainstream sport for quite some time now. He has now reached very close to seeing his dream take shape. The first episode of the power slap is scheduled to be aired on the 18th of January, 2023. Fans, however, have not been completely convinced by the unconventional sport and its rules. Although, the sports short action-filled format may be highly sellable on social media platforms. If fans accept the sport as Dana White expects or not is yet to be seen.
