The Sphere in Las Vegas garnered a lot of attention since its opening in September. Apparently, UFC CEO Dana White believes that the venue is his next big undertaking. The 54-year-old is excited about the prospect of creating the biggest combat sports event on the Mexican Independence Day in 2024.
The same company that built the iconic Madison Square Garden was the one that built the Sphere in Las Vegas. The structure is worth around $2.3 billion and has become one of the most popular venues in the world. As such, Dana White is trying to make his own mark in ‘Sin City’.

The 54-year-old MMA figure cannot wait to put on a UFC event for the Mexican Independence next year. Noche UFC already proved to be a huge success and Dana White is determined to continue that kind of success. During a recent appearance on the ‘Full Send’ podcast, he said, “I’m so f***ing pumped for this thing.” White also mentioned that is perhaps the undertaking for him since the COVID-19 pandemic days, which was a difficult time for many businesses around the world.
“The last big challenge in my life was Covid. So the next big challenge in my life is the sphere – how to figure this thing out and how to turn this into the greatest f***ing live sporting event that anyone has ever seen as far as combat sports go,” said Dana White. The UFC CEO also did not forget to reveal how big of a challenge the Sphere is for him.
UF CEO understands the gravity of putting on a show at the Sphere
There is no doubt in Dana White’s mind that booking a venue like the Sphere is a big deal. The whole structure is built around the notion of creating a visual spectacle for the crowd. This is why the 54-year-old is proceeding with caution since he’d made a lot of promises regarding the potential event in the $2.3 billion structure.
“Booked it now [and] now I got to figure it out… and I’ve talked a lot of f***ing sh*t,” the UFC CEO further stated. However, that is not a problem for Dana White. He had faced many challenges before and was not afraid to push himself to create history. “I love to put pressure on myself… I f***ing love it,” White added.
