Merab Dvalishvili has been keeping the UFC head honcho, Dana White, on the edge for a while now. Just weeks before his scheduled title fight against Sean O’Malley, Dvalishvili took to social media and revealed a cut that he got while training for the fight. The act cast a shadow of doubt, leaving the fighting community wondering if Dvalishvili would pull out of Noche UFC Sphere due to the injury. Even though he confirmed that it wasn’t something that could hold him back, the UFC CEO didn’t back down from lashing out at ‘The Machine’ for revealing his injuries before the fight.
But things have taken a different turn now, as the bantamweight #1 posted yet another video of him taking out the stitches. This has led to White thinking that Dvalishvili is simply messing with him.

During the press conference for Dana White’s Contender Series Season 8, one of the reporters asked the UFC head honcho to talk about Dvalishvili’s cut. White revealed that it was indeed a significant injury. He said, “I went back to him and it was bad. It’s a bad cut. So usually they go in and sew them the inside out. Maybe he’ll get some big a** scissors and take the stitches out himself, and…”
When White stopped midway and asked if there were any other questions, the reporter urged him to continue. After sharing a laugh, White said, “Isn’t he awesome? I think he’s just f***ing with me, now, to be honest with you.” Well, it was the only conclusion he could land at after watching the footage of ‘The Machine’ taking his stitches out himself.
But when the reporter questioned if White had talked to Dvalishvili regarding that, he simply shook his head and said, “No. Do what you want. Do what you want.” He seemingly admitted defeat when Dvalishvili used giant scissors to take out the stitches above his eye. The UFC head honcho pointed out that the scissors that the medical staff use are designed to prevent one from inflicting cuts while removing the stitches. But things were completely different with ‘The Machine’. White continued, “This dude had like f***ing bushiers that he was using. You know, you trim your f***ing bushes with, that gardeners use. Whatever! Good for him!”

White does not usually appreciate it when the fighters leak out information about their injuries with a few weeks left to their fights. And the case with Dvalishvili was no different.

UFC CEO bashed ‘The Machine’ for releasing information about his injury
Not too long ago, the bantamweight #1 took to Instagram and let the whole world know about the cut above his eye. This greatly enraged the UFC head honcho, who seemed to believe that Dvalishvili shouldn’t have revealed his injury. On top of that, it did seem like a minor cut that might not pose any significant issue for UFC 306. White addressed this during a previous press conference for this year’s Contender Series.
White said, “I mean, our guys are so dumb, it’s next-level unbelievable. It’s when that, all the stuff that I talk about boxing, what will give boxing, is when something happens in a camp, man, let me tell you what, it does not leak. You know, our guys can’t f***ing wait to throw it up on social media. It’s just, it’s a small cut. It’s no big deal. But obviously, needed to be posted.”

White further stated that Dvalishvili was “next-level stupid” for giving O’Malley a target on his head. The bantamweight champion is known for his accurate strikes. Showing him the injury indeed gave ‘Suga’ an advantage over Dvalishvili. Needless to say, the act left the UFC head honcho completely flabbergasted.
It does seem like the UFC bossman has waved the white flag and let Dvalishvili do whatever he wanted to. Do you believe ‘The Machine’ was simply trolling White with his social media posts? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
