Is Amanda Nunes teasing us, or is a legendary comeback truly on the horizon?

It seems like people haven’t had enough of Amanda Nunes, who retired last year after defending her bantamweight champion for the final time. ‘The Lioness’ has definitely noticed the cries from the fans and even some of the top female contenders who want to fight her as she shared a cryptic message to Dana White. And guess what? The UFC CEO appears to love that message.

“I miss you so much,” said Amanda Nunes to Dana White after Julianna Pena called her out for a trilogy fight. However, she didn’t mention anything about any opponent, which has led Dana White to believe that maybe the former double champ is just “teasing.”

During the recent Contender Series presser, Dana White was all smiles when the reporters asked him about Amanda Nunes’ video message on Instagram. The first thing he noticed was that ‘The Lioness’ looked like she was ready to go inside the Octagon again. “She looks good [chuckles]. She looks great. Looks like she’s still in shape. So you know where her head is at… I love that about her,” White told the reporters.

Although the 55-year-old believes that Amanda Nunes hasn’t stopped observing the current women’s bantamweight title scene, Dana White thinks that she’s just being playful regarding a potential comeback. However, he’s not dismissing any chance of having her back. Dana White is a hundred percent down to see Nunes fight again.

“She’s keeping an eye on who wins the title next and I think she’s teasing that she might be interested in coming back,” Dana White further stated. “I love Amanda Nunes. I have an incredible relationship with her [and] I would absolutely love to see her come back.”

While Julianna Pena wants to settle the score against Amanda Nunes, the former champion, Raquel Pennington, has called for an immediate rematch against ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’. And while that debacle hasn’t been addressed by the UFC CEO, Dana White did give his two cents on a possible clash between Nunes and Kayla Harrison.

Nunes taking on Kayla Harrison? Dana White claims “it’s impossible”

There is no denying that Kayla Harrison is an absolute freak of an athlete, which is apparent, given her 18-1 record. The former two-time Olympic gold medal-winning judoka has often been often been seen as a great opponent for Amanda Nunes, which led one reporter to ask Dana White if there’s a possibility of seeing these two female stars fight one day inside the Octagon. But the UFC CEO claims that the possibility of that fight depends on a lot of unnamed factors.

“I don’t know. I have no idea… There are still a lot of things that have to happen for that fight [Nunes vs Kayla Harrison] to even happen, to determine what weight class it will be at. It’s impossible,” Dana White added. This fight is sure to create a big buzz, but Kayla Harrison might have to do something to get into the conversation of taking on arguably the greatest Women’s MMA fighter in history.
