By now, every UFC fan is aware of the close friendship between UFC President Dana White and the former President of the United States of America, Donald Trump. Their friendship goes back at least 23 years now, back around 2001 when White’s UFC had been struggling to gain acceptance by society. Especially when then-US Senator John McCain labeled it “human cockfighting” and further ran a campaign to put an end to our now favorite sport.
It was then that Donald Trump came to White’s rescue and urged the UFC President to hold an event at his Trump Taj Mahal Hotel in Atlantic City. As a result, the now-defunct casino and hotel held UFC 31 and UFC 32, and the sport soon started gaining back the fanbase that it was on the verge of losing. So when FOX News asked White about his and his fan’s political bias toward Trump, especially after the UFC head honcho gave a pro-Trump speech at the Republican National Convention recently, White answered by blaming the media for creating a divide instead.
He stated that the only thing that he and the MMA fans are looking for is common sense. The UFC CEO emphasized that all they’re looking for are the basic necessities in life and the divide in the country is being created by the media. “Well, the thing is with our fan base and our fighters, we are all very aligned in life and everything else. It’s not that it’s any real political side; we’re for common sense. It’s all everybody is looking for.”

He further added, “Everybody wants the same thing, and anybody in this room, if you let go of the media BS go away, we all want to make a good living, we all want to get a house, we want some nice cars, we want kids, we want to take care of our kids… Everybody wants the same thing; it is not like we don’t. It is just the media has created this divide in this country that needs to go away, and hopefully soon it will.”

Trump, who was in town due to his civil fraud trial, entered Madison Square Garden to acclaimed public acclaim. He was in the company of White, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, and singer Kid Rock. In a podcast hosted by comedian Theo Von on November 14, White noted, “I posted a video for Trump on my personal social media. One of our big sponsors called and said, ‘Take that down.’ You know what I said? Go f*** yourself.”
He further added, “You vote for whoever you want to vote for, and I’ll vote for whoever I want to vote for. That’s how this works. I don’t even care who you’re voting for. It’s none of my f****** business. F*** you. Don’t ever f****** call me and tell me who to vote for.” Well, it sure looks like White wants to keep politics as far away from his business life as possible. But what do you think? Is it possible to keep the two separate? Let us know in the comments.
