Should the UFC cut ties with Junior Tafa after his controversial slap incident with Valter Walker?

The preliminary cards at UFC 305 have shown some of the most confusing sides of the UFC. One of which was the confusion of Junior Tafa’s verbal tap within the very first round against Valter Walker. But soon after the bout was concluded, ‘The Juggernaut’ swooped in to confront his opponent with nothing but rage in his head.

Towards the end of the first round, the fighters took the fight to the ground. With just about a minute left for the first round to end, Walker rolled down to put in a sudden heel hook, as Tafa’s inability to get back to his feet seemed imminent. Tafa soon moved to his back and began screaming in pain. But as soon as he turned to his side, the fight was called off in favor of Walker.

Needless to say, this greatly enraged Tafa and he was about to slap Walker following the conclusion of the fight. He claimed that he didn’t tap out and the scream was considered as a verbal tap out by the referee in charge.

Junior Tafa gets backlash for his actions after Valter Walker won the bout at UFC 305

While the world of mixed martial arts is filled with nothing but trash-talks and violence, things can sometimes go out of control and the same happened in the match between Tafa and Walker. But as an enraged Tafa went forth to slap Walker, the MMA world pointed out that the New Zealander should be cut out from the MMA promotion. Some of the fans even brought in Muhammad Mokaev, the undefeated Dagestani fighter who wasn’t offered a new contract just because of his actions prior to UFC 304. A fan simply asked Dana White to “terminate his contract.” One fan wrote, “Screaming for his life lmao, he’s probably getting cut after that.” Meanwhile, another comment read, “Tafa POS. PROBABLY GETTING CUT.” One more comment went, “If Mokaev gets cut for his actions, Tafa should be too. What a loser.”
