One of the biggest unanswered questions is whether Conor McGregor will return to the fighting world.  However, out of nowhere, the former dual-weight world champion announced an unexpected clash against Logan Paul in India. While this fight news has shocked the entire MMA community, former welterweight fighter Matt Brown remains unfazed, stating that he expected McGregor to make such an announcement.

While having a conversation on ‘The Fighter vs. The Writer’, former UFC fighter, Matt Brown emphasized that he is not surprised that Conor McGregor decided to make a comeback with Logan Paul, it was rather the opposite for Brown as he is confused by the media and the MMA community is so surprised by it. “There’s so much money to be made doing a Logan Paul fight,” said Brown.

He further added, “Of course, he would do that. He doesn’t have to come back and fight a f*cking Islam [Makhachev] or something or Dustin Poirier or [Nate] Diaz or anything. He just going and boxing a guy who is not a pro boxer.” Conor McGregor’s last professional fight took place in 2021, where he faced Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. During this bout, McGregor sustained an injury that sidelined him for three years, significantly impacting his MMA career.

Ahead of this statement by the former welterweight fighter, Brown expressed his excitement about the potential clash between Conor McGregor and Logan Paul, as it would mark the return of the former champion. “I’d like to see him fight again. I’d like to see him get his life together, get back in the gym, and do his thing but how long ago did I originally say he’s not fighting again? I think it was at the latest early 2024. I haven’t had confidence he was going to fight in the UFC for a long time. But I think it’s always possible for him to fight outside the UFC if he can work out whatever deal with the UFC. “

Brown understands that Conor McGregor’s clash with Logan Paul would mean nothing to many within the community but it would mark the necessary return of the former dual-weight champion, who appears to be in need of redemption after the Nikita Hand civil case. Well, Brown might be all in on McGregor but what are the fans thinking? let us find out.

There was once a time when the MMA community viewed Conor McGregor as a mystic, especially because he did what he said he would. His 13-second knockout of José Aldo marked his legacy in golden words. Why? Because ‘Mystic Mac’ defied all odds to become the featherweight champion, despite many believing he would lose the battle. Years have passed since that incident, and his legacy may have been tarnished by his antics, as one heartbroken fan stated, “McGregor fighting Paul is a disgrace to his legacy.”

It’s been years since Conor McGregor knocked out any of his opponents. The last time ‘Mystic Mac’ knocked out anyone cold was back in 2020 when he fought against Donald Cerrone. Looking at this a fan has a simple demand for the former dual-weight champion, “Well I hope he knocks out Logan, but we all know it’ll be a payday for both of them and it’ll turn into a dance.”

A fan asked if Dana White would make an exception again, considering Conor McGregor still has two fights left under his contract, and if this fight were to take place. Would he?  “So I guess Dana has a decision to make since Conor is still under contract. It looks to me like Dana/UFC is going to make an exception again and let Conor box, am I correct?”

Furthermore, a social media user believes that the clash against Floyd Mayweather killed every ounce of hunger that Conor McGregor had, “Getting the Mayweather money was the worst thing to never happen to Conor. Lost all the hunger, drive, and motivation.”

Another fan doubled down on the same thing, “Conor’s fall from grace is historic.” Last but not the least, a fan wants a trilogy fight with Nate Diaz rather than a clash against Logan Paul – “He needs to fight @NateDiaz209 don’t care about any other fight”

Conor McGregor’s anticipated comeback is yet to be announced, so nothing has been made certain as of now. Regardless, what’s your take on ‘Mystic Mac’s decision to fight ‘The Maverick’? State your thoughts in the comments below.
