Ali Abdelaziz, in an interview with ESPN MMA, discussed the possible fight between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad. Despite the UFC 300 being scheduled near the time of Ramadan, Abdelaziz claims that Muhammad would have no problem getting ready to fight for a title.

The 46-year-old manager goes on to praise Muhammad for being a company man by claiming that he agrees to fight when the UFC asks him to. He implies that fighters get treated when they agree to  Dana White and the higher-ups saying, “And historically, Dana White, Sean, Hunter and all those guys, when guys act like that. They get taken care.”

Given Belal Muhammad’s compliance with the UFC, Abdelaziz states, “I just I have a hard time to believe that will not take care of Belal, me personally. But I see a lot of crazy things happen but I’m 100% advocated Belal. Nobody deserves it more than him.”

Ali Abdelaziz has made his point on why Belal Muhammad is most likely to fight for the title shot at UFC 300. However, given Ramadan is near the timeframe of UFC 300, how would it affect Belal Muhammad?

Most of the fighters from Dagestan don’t fight during Ramadan. The major reason being their fasting and restriction of fighting. Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev are some fighters who refuse to fight when the holy month for Muslims approaches. However, Belal Muhammad claims that Ramadan would only help him perform better.

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Muhammad claims that him observing Ramadan would only strengthen him mentally and eventually give him an edge over Edwards. He states, “Mentally, physically, it’s going to tell me I’m doing things that these guys are not doing. Leon is not doing that. Leon, who’s already weak mentally, he’s going to need a sip of water after every freaking round in practice. Me, I’m going to push through it.”
