Dana White's alarm over UFC judging—Is the sport's integrity at risk with these blunders?

UFC Vegas 96 witnessed some amazing matches but terrible work from the administration and Dana White. One of them was the judging criteria during the clash between Dennis Buzukja and Francis Marshall. Both fighters showcased immense fighting intent, as each of them needed a win badly. However, at the end of the day, it was Marshall who clinched the victory by way of a split decision. It must be noted that according to some people in the MMA community, Marshall should have won the second round but two of the judges gave it to Buzukja.

In the initial round, Marshall aggressively attempted a takedown on Buzukja, he even managed to pin his own against the cage. Buzukja escaped the submission attempt and both the fighters exchanged heavy kicks and blows, in the later part of the first round Marshall dropped Buzukja. The second round started with “Fire” landing a powerful right hand that dropped Buzukja. Despite the knockout attempt, ‘The Great’ managed to turn the momentum by throwing body kicks towards Marshall. Despite the attempts, it was not enough to win the second round.

The MMA community appears to be not content with the back-to-back lapse in the administration problems. After the UFC Vegas 96, fans have called out to Dana White to make sure that the upcoming matches have a better judge.

Furthermore, a fan highlighted the biased judging in favor of certain fighters. Well, this is not the only mistake that happened at the event as during the main event, the referee kind of missed a knockout statement from Caio Barralho against Jared Cannonier.
