UFC 292 is just hours away, and the MMA community is eagerly looking forward to it. The event will be headlined by the top bantamweight fighters, Aljamain Sterling and Sean O’Malley. Both Sterling and O’Malley will lock horns against each other for the UFC bantamweight championship. Another highlight of the fight night is the co-main event between the current UFC strawweight champion, Zhang Weili, and Amanda Lemos. There are indeed many interesting fighters who are going to fight in UFC 292; however, there is someone who was not allowed to be a part of the monumental event.

The fighter is none other than lightweight star Joe Lauzon. Lauzon’s last bout in the promotion was in October 2019. Back then, he fought against Jonathan Pierce and won a glorious first-round technical knockout victory. The UFC president, Dana White, has sidelined him ever since. ‘J-Lau’ was talking at a Q&A session held at TD Garden before the UFC 292 faceoffs. During the chat, he revealed that he asked several times for a chance at UFC 292. The 39-year-old badly wanted to fight against Chase Hooper. However, the UFC president and company turned him down.

The UFC lightweight fighter said, “I tried. I tried. It didn’t work out,” Lauzon added, “I texted many, many times. I was told my services were not needed.He claimed that he texted them numerous times to consider him for the big event; however, the promotion totally ignored the request of the UFC veteran. When fight fans came across the unfortunate news, they were quick to react. Many believed that the promotion should give experienced fighters what they ask.

Fans lash out at Dana White for being unfair to Joe Lauzon

One of the fans was totally disappointed with how the UFC treated Lauzon. He claimed that the promotion should have included more prelims so that fighters like Lauzon would get an opportunity to fight.

Another fan questioned the actions of the UFC boss. He asked why White failed to give Lauzon a chance despite promising that he would give at least three fights to every fighter in a year.
