Jorge Masvidal fought for the last time in the UFC cage. The ‘Gamebred’ had a long UFC career. He enthralled fans with his fighting style and never-back-down approach. Masvidal was lucky to have fought for the last time in front of his home crowd. He lost to Gilbert Burns in his final fight, but it seems Masvidal is not done with his fights outside the cage. The recent episode of off-court aggression was reported by the media when Masvidal met Kevin Holland in the hotel lobby. While Dana White had reprimanded journalists for asking questions about the altercation in the press conference following UFC 287, involved party and welterweight fighter Kevin Holland revealed details.

Holland was talking to MMA journalist Ariel Helwani on his show The MMA Hour. Helwani asked Holland about what transpired between the two. Holland responded saying that the two have not been on cordial terms and have had engagements in the past too. Then he talked about what led to the altercation in Miami.

Kevin Holland was to attend Jorge Masvidal’s event

According to Kevin Holland, there was a certain miscommunication that added to the already existing feud between the two welterweights. Responding to Helwani, Holland said. “We have like previous engagements just like here and there. I think it was like a misunderstanding at one point in time so you know somebody said that I was going to his event to like trash the event, not the case at all.”

He further added, Dana put it into it we’ve seen each other a few times here and there nothing ever really happened to he say she say but at the end of the day you know I mean nothing’s ever happened so it’s just a bunch of barking and growling until somebody bites.” Holland explained that there was an MMA event that Masvidal had organized. A lady friend of Holland’s was cornering in one of the fights, and he just wanted to meet her at the event.

Masvidal Loses at UFC 287, Holland wins with one hand

While Jorge Masvidal had to suffer his 4th consecutive loss in the UFC, Kevin Holland revived his career with a win against Argentinian Santiago Ponzinibbio. What’s noteworthy is that Kevin Holland’s right hand suffered an injury during his last fight against ‘Wonderboy’ Stephen Thompson. Since then Holland has been training with only one hand and protecting himself right after the consequential surgery.

He was not confident about being able to wear 4-ounce gloves for the fight but revealed how elated and relaxed he was after defeating Ponzinibbio. Holland had shown his injured hand to UFC President Dana White after the fight. This has created some speculation amongst fans.
