Belal Muhammad just made an outstanding record by becoming the first Palestinian fighter to win a UFC title. UFC 304 saw this history being made as he fought against Leon Edwards. This was their second match with each other and the first one ended in a no contest after Edwards accidentally did an eye poke. This time around remember the name was more than ready and trained with Khabib Nurmagomedov so clearly he was not leaving any stones unturned.
However, fans found the reaction of UFC CEO Dana White a little underwhelming during the press conference after the event. When he was asked about the historic win of Muhammad, his reply was not with too much enthusiasm. He said, “ wasn’t a barn burner… Belal’s been training with Khabib so his performance was what you would expect.”
The 36-year-old American fighter born in Chicago who is the child of two Palestinian immigrants, scored a five-round unanimous decision win against ‘Rocky’. With a bloodied face and forehead the 24-3 champ fell onto his knees and put his head on the mat of the octagon as if thanking the promotion and his hard work. He said before his fight, “It’s not just about myself, it’s about them.” He proudly showed off his country’s flag after winning the competition.

‘Remember The Name’ truly lived up to his moniker and since 2019 he has not lost a single match. Even after that, the reaction that the UFC boss gave during the post-fight press conference was not satisfactory to the fans. It is true that when someone is training with the eagle, they would expect to become the best. However, when the boss pointed the same thing out, the fans were not so happy.
UFC fans decide to call out Dana White
Dana White seemed pretty disappointed after the event concluded, even though he was pretty excited before the contest and even promised a $100 K bonus to the fighters. During the post-press conference, the boss did not seem too happy. He expected the main card to be finished with a knockout or finishing move, but it went on for five rounds and ended in a decision. On top of that, his reaction to Muhammad’s winning was not satisfactory to the fans.

One fan commented, “Dana is so mad Belal won and I’m here for it. He was lighting Leon up on the feet, and DOMINATED grappling. Outstanding performance.” Another person said, “It was a great performance by Belal and we need to give him his respect now.” During the UFC 304 pre-fight press conference, King Green asked the boss to spice things up with a bonus. White looked at former welterweight champ Leon Edwards. When ‘Rocky’ gave a nod, the UFC CEO announced, “Leon says yes.”
However, even after listening to the main fighters, none of them were able to clinch the title. Instead, Belal Muhammad made a record-breaking win and became the welterweight champion. This made Dana White promise that he would never plan for a bonus in a pre-fight press conference. On top of that the fans said, “Dana glazing belal ? OK now I have seen it all,” and “”Belal was never my friend” – Dana White.”
Dana White is disappointed because there was no sense of urgency among the fighters even after he announced the $100 thousand bonus. White said, “I think tonight’s show that we should not. Upping them doesn’t change anything. It doesn’t make anybody fight any harder. It doesn’t change anything. I’m not doing this again. Ever. Today was the last, the last day that I was doing that. I’m not saying that in the future, the bonuses couldn’t get up, but I’m not gonna be at a press conference, say, ‘200, 300’.F***ing never again. You can thank everybody on this card for that. Nobody fought any harder. There was no sense of urgency. ‘Holy s**t! I want the $100K!’”

Maybe the nonchalant way in which the boss talked about Muhammad came from their disappointment in the other fighters. One fan said, “Belal was winning on the feet. It’s on Leon to stop the takedown.” Another fan pointed out, “Belal was rocking Leon’s head back with the jab and uppercuts. Lifting that man off his feet multiple times. Slamming him on his head once. That was a good fight. Idk what ppl on.” One netizen said, “Only casuals crying. Go watch kickboxing this is MMA and takedowns and super entertaining.”
So do you think the reaction of the White was valid? Was he upset because he announced a bonus that no one could win? What is your take on this? Tell us in the comments below.
