Ahead of this enticing clash, ‘The Hangman’ took to Instagram and added a post trolling the former Bellator MMA champion.
Hooker took the reference to the famous sitcom F.R.I.E.N.D.S and suggested he will fight Matthew Perry at UFC 257. Perry famously played the role of Chandler Bing in the TV-series classic.
Chandler Bing has always been one of the most fan-favorite characters. Jokes apart, Hooker will have his hands full at UFC 257, as he faces a versatile fighter in Chandler.
Chandler will have a chip on his shoulder to prove he is UFC standard too. Many have suggested the high-profile superstar have the same fate in the UFC as that of Ben Askren. Askren’s UFC career was a disaster compared to his previous undefeated accolades.
But Chandler’s old foe Eddie Alvarez had a successful UFC career. Alvarez also managed to become the UFC lightweight champion. Considering Chandler’s skillset, he obviously has the potential to replicate those accolades.
But he certainly needs a good showing in his first outing in the Octagon. He will be looking to prove his doubters wrong and shut his haters up. Hooker is set to give him a stern test, though.
Dan Hooker will be looking to use this opportunity as a springboard
‘The Hangman’ will be looking to make a statement against the debutant Chandler. Chandler has a lot of hype behind him and is promoted by the UFC. Hooker can steal all the thunder if he manages to outclass Chandler.
