Dan ‘The Hangman’ Hooker returned to winning ways at UFC 281 with a win over Claudio Puelles. The 32-year-old lightweight was on a two-fight skid coming into UFC 281. Hence, the win elated the City Kickboxing captain’s spirits. However, Hooker recently revealed that was not his only highlight of the night.

The Peruvian youngster gave Hooker a submission scare early in the first round. However, he outclassed the 26-year-old Puelles and found the win in the second round. The Kiwi’s excitement at finding the win could be seen during his post-fight interview.
Dan Hooker about kissing Joe Rogan on the head
‘The Hangman‘ could not keep his excitement bottled during his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan. He finished his time on the microphone by saying, “I love you, Joe!” and kissed Rogan on the head. Now, Hooker has posted a picture of the kiss on his Instagram, describing it as the sweetest of all the incredible moments in his career.

“I’ve had a ton of incredible moments throughout my career thus far. However none sweeter than my lips smooching the glorious dome of the legend that is @joerogan”– Hooker wrote under the post. In the cage, Rogan returned Hooker’s energetic show of affection with a simple “I love you too, buddy.”
Hooker also did a bit of self-promotion on the mic. Responding to Rogan’s question about his performance, ‘The Hangman’ said, “I’m 6 ft with a vicious hook. When I bit down on this mouthpiece, ooh boy I make nerves look soft.”

Hooker does not want to wait too long for his next fight. He also stated his intention to compete on the UFC 284 card in Perth. It remains to be seen if the promotion will oblige ‘The Hangman.’

UFC 284 will feature a clash of champions as its main event. Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski will look to attain the prestigious double champ status as he faces newly crowned lightweight king Islam Makhachev. Dan Hooker has now stated his desire to be part of what could be a historic night for his teammate Volkanovski.
During the post-fight interview at UFC 281, Hooker said, “Perth, I’m coming for you. Any man walking the face of this earth can get it.” He wants to keep his newfound momentum going with another fight in February. Hooker was 1-4 in his last fight heading into UFC 281. However, his losses were against top contenders like Islam Makhachev, Dustin Poirier, Michael Chandler, and Arnold Allen.
