In a recent development, UFC CEO Dana White announced three big fights for UFC 306 being held at the Las Vegas Sphere. However, much to the surprise of many, Max Holloway doesn’t feature in the event. After an emphatic UFC 300 performance, the BMF title holder showed his willingness to be a part of the event and wanted to take on Ilia Topuria next. But it seems both ‘Blessed’ and the fans will have to wait a little while longer after Dana White revealed the card for the Noche UFC Sphere.
Holloway knocked out Justin Gaethje in emphatic fashion in the final stages of the last round at UFC 300. After his win, Max Holloway was supposed to fight Ilia Topuria at UFC 306. But that didn’t happen. So how exactly is Max Holloway feeling about the snub? Let us find out what he had to say about the whole thing.

Championship Rounds took to their X account to share a video message from ‘Blessed’. The BMF tile holder in the video said, “Feel Damaged bro. It’s Mexican Independence Day guys. You guys cannot have a Spaniard, who Mexicans got their Independence back from to headline on Mexican Independence Day. C’mon, bro.” Max Holloway kind of mocked Topuria with his message as he is a Spaniard. ‘Blessed’ then revealed his thoughts on the rumors of him being a part of the UFC 306 at the Sphere. According to the 32-year-old, everyone knew he was fighting at the highly anticipated clash except the champion. He revealed, “I am gonna tell you guys but everybody knew that I was fighting in the Sphere except for me.”
Max Holloway reacts to the Sphere card announcement:
"This is how I feel I about not being on the Sphere card… should've been us brother.
It's Mexican Independence Day. You guys cannot have a Spaniard, who Mexicans got their independence back from, to headline the card."

The UFC sphere would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for combat fans, as revealed by the UFC head honcho. The UFC has already spent $17 million on it, and this will be a spectacle for the fans. But how did the rivalry between the two start? “Guys, there’s the ‘El Matador’; he is running away from a bull at 145; tell him to sign the contract in Spain, Hawaii, wherever,” were the exact words of Holloway after his emphatic UFC 300 victory. The pair is not scheduled to take on each other at UFC 306, but the BMF champion has different plans.
Max Holloway wanted to fight in Salt Lake City, and it seems the promotion will be paying heed to his words. Rumors suggest that the pair will clash at UFC 307 instead, and so does Ariel Helwani.

Ariel Helwani opens up about the possible clash between Holloway and Topuria.
‘El Matador’ recently took to his X account to share the news of his return to the Octagon. He tweeted, “It seems that the UFC has forced him to say yes. El Matador is back. Congratulations to all UFC fans.” Responding to the tweet, Holloway added a few photos of him working out with the caption, “Patiently waiting.”
Is something brewing between the fighters? Popular MMA journalist Ariel Helwani was the first to respond to the rumor of Max Holloway fighting with Ilia Topuria. While the fight is not heading for UFC 306, when can the fans expect it to happen?

According to Helwani, the fight might be scheduled for October 5th. While there is no official announcement of the fights, Helwani tweeted, “The plan was always the [Alexa] Grasso title defense as she told us a couple of weeks ago…Then the other plan would be Ilia [Topuria] vs. Max [Holloway] most likely on the October 5th Utah card, which hasn’t been officially announced yet.” Helwani feels Dana White never reveals his cards, and both of these fighters are capable of driving PPV sales. Also, with the recent tweet, it seems the fighters are still waiting for the clash to happen.
