The Dagestanis have taken over the MMA world. Khabib Nurmagomedov was the first of the ferocious fighters with a sambo background who came to the UFC and went undefeated. Even after his retirement, fighters like Islam Makhachev, Umar Nurmagomedov, Usman Nurmagomedov have taken forward the Dagestani legacy. The fact that these three fighters have lost just one fight between them and won a total of 55 pro-MMA fights speaks a lot about their skills and fighting prowess. Usman Nurmagomedov has now made a statement about his elder brother Umar Nurmagomedov and fans have reacted to it.

Usman Nurmagomedov was asked by a reporter about his career and how were things with Umar Nurmagomedov. He said, “This is for Umar this little bit hard, you know, like because of no one don’t want to fight with him and how I’m not like uh everybody is scared, everybody you know he even now he don’t have opponent our opponent. They fight for him opponent but everybody say I have something like, you know, sick or problem like this but I hope they find for him opponent and he will fight alone much after when I will defend my title.”

MMA fans react to Umar Nurmagomedov not getting fights

Fans have now reacted to Umar Nurmagomedov not getting opponents. Reddit users had so many opinions. A compared the Nurmagomedovs with Gracies. The user wrote, “Dagestanis are the new Gracies. But unlike the Gracies, the Nurmagomadovs have shown to adapt and add a variety of moves to their arsenal. Sakuraba and Ismael were able to delete a bunch of Gracies between them, but there is no such fighter for Nurmagomadovs.

Another user felt that the Combat Sambo background was giving the Dagestanis an edge.

The user commented, “It’s cause combat Sambo is just MMA with a Gi, and they sending their best who rise to the top of fighting. Jitsu isn’t fighting and just 1 part of it, Combat Sambo is basically MMA. If you nevse go to the ground with a Jiu Jitsu guy they literally have no skill set.”

A user placed his belief in Australian #1 pound-for-pound Alexander Volkanovski to take on the Dagestanis. The comment read, “Volk is that fighter.”

Another user suggested a potential fight for Umar Nurmagomedov, The user commented, “O’Malley is open for a fight. Only one that is not booked currently for the bantamweight division”

An ardent Umar Nurmagomedov fan was all praise for the BW fighter. He commented, “Umar isn’t losing to anyone at 135 for a few years tops. He’s the best p4p of all the Nurmys including Khabib. Umar and Usman already a far superior skill set to Khabib and Islam.”

A user also looked confused with so many Nurmagomedovs featuring in MMA. He commented, “Too many nurmagomedovs to keep up”

While there were questions on why the Dagestanis don’t fight each other. A fan commented, “I think all the degestanis had already fought each other back home when they were 12″
