Conor McGregor calls out Nurmagomedov Family for substance abuse

The showman, Conor McGregor has bad blood against the Nurmagomedov family since his bout against Khabib Nurmagomedov. And it is of no surprise that McGregor leaves no opportunity to make comments on their team. Similarly, the bantamweight fighter of the UFC, Umar Nurmagomedov took to X (formerly Twitter) to add a tweet about his delays in fights.

The undefeated bantamweight fighter stated that the extended breaks between his fights are due to the UFC not organizing any matchups for him. ‘The Notorious,’ took the opportunity to emphasize that Usman Nurmagomedov has been suspended for six months in California and fined $50,000 for testing positive for a prohibited substance. McGregor wrote, “Your younger brother popped for steroids. That’s 4 now out of your family caught on steroids while fighting.”

McGregor’s comments didn’t sit well with the fans who were left divided. They took to Reddit to express their opinion:-

Starting off, with one of the fans making some serious allegations on Dagestani fighters.

Let’s not ignore all the fact that all those Dagestani back muscles are the product of PEDs. Sure, starting when you’re 13 and training 100 hours a week helps, but all the best Dagestani wrestlers are juiced to the gills. You know this brother.

Furthermore, another fan believed that every single fighter be it past or present is on some kind of drug.

I honestly believe every one of them are on something. I also believe Conor is too and majority of the roster. There were even rumours about GSP back in the day and all the other goats popped so it wouldn’t even surprise me at this point. Whole thing is just a sham to make money

A fan finally took Umar Nurmagomedov’s side and ͏reminded McGregor about his fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Khabib literally took his manhood. Conor will stay salty.

One supported the Nurmagomedov family and challenged McGregor to win against them through a fight.

Yes, only hating, never winning against them.

Another reminded McGregor how “Eagle” nearly ended his career in the UFC.

Last but not least, a fan reminded McGregor that even if the Nurmagomedov family uses steroids, he uses even more

Cheating is cheating, but Mcgregor is definitely just as if not even more roided than the Nurmagomedov’s. Someone tell him this ain’t the hill to die on

Judging by the reaction of the fans it can be understood that they are not amused by McGregor’s constant attack on the Nurmagomedov family. The fans claim that McGregor should defeat them in a match rather than working his mouth on the internet. Nonetheless, let’s understand why McGregor accuses the Nurmagomedov team of substance abuse.

McGregor’s reasoning behind the steroids claim

Up until now, there have been four instances involving fighters associated with Khabib Nurmagomedov, with the latest being Usman Nurmagomedov’s unsuccessful drug test in Bellator. Among them is the current UFC lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev. Fortunately, USADA ruled in favor of Makhachev, citing that the substance in question was permissible before 2016.

Well, it turned out to be a mixed bag for the trio. While the first fighter managed to dodge the bullet, Ruslan Magomedov and Zubaira Tukhugov weren’t so fortunate. Ruslan Magomedov, a UFC heavyweight, and Zubaira Tukhugov, a UFC featherweight, found themselves slapped with two-year suspensions based on tests from 2016 that revealed the presence of ostarine in their systems. Despite vehemently denying the allegations and pointing fingers at contaminated supplements, the suspension stuck, courtesy of USADA’s unwavering stance.
