Conor McGregor has taken some fresh shots at Khabib Nurmagomedov, which are low, even for the bombastic Irishman. Quote tweeting an old post about his insults aimed at ‘The Eagle’s wife, ‘The Notorious’ went on a tirade, abusing, disparaging, and denigrating the things dearest to Nurmagomedov– his family and his homeland.

“15 minutes I done aldo 15 seconds... Show us you and your cousins kids together because we have kids here in Ireland that wanna smoke them in competition. Are they competing or what are you saying Ireland vs Dagestan? Where’s your offspring, we cant wait to see them . The best of Dagestan offspring ? Dagestan, what do we think? Is this true ? Who’s next cos fatso with the coach whistle won’t fight,” McGregor wrote.

“… Dagestan think you are pu**y lips for retiring. Real Dagestan is forever. You are laughed at behind your back in Dagestan. Lazy you are, they say. Fight me and make a 100 million dollars and give it to the entire village of Dagestan! But you won’t, why? Fat lazy scared b***h. Lazy fasto,” the Irishman concluded.

The Irishman’s tirade seems partly motivated by Nurmagomedov recently slagging off the Irish MMA scene in comparison to Dagestan’s in the run-up to Usman Nurmagomedov‘s Bellator lightweight title clash against Irishman Paul Hughes. But, the real aim here seems to be that McGregor is trying to goad the Dagestani into a rematch of their memorable UFC 229 clash.

Of course, ‘Mac’ and Nurmagoemdov’s rivalry goes back to their first clash back in 2018, which was the biggest fight in the history of the sport. In the run-up to that fight, McGregor had taken shots at Nurmagomedov’s family, religion, and country, which had made for an absolutely electric build-up to their fight. In the end, Nurmagomedov managed to submit the Irishman in the fourth round and spit on him straight after.

Right after the bout, a massive brawl broke out, where the Irishman was assaulted by Nurmagomedov’s teammates, who jumped into the Octagon. No wonder the duo hate each other so passionately. In addition, the recent drama McGregor has been involved in may also be part of the reason for this tweet.

Is McGregor's trash talk a desperate attempt for relevance, or does he genuinely want a rematch?

Feud with young Irish star may be behind Conor McGregor’s wild tweets at Khabib Nurmagomedov

Usman Nurmagomedov, Khabib’s cousin, beat Paul Hughes at their PFL Dubai clash earlier this month. Right after the fight, Hughes showed a lot of respect to ‘The Eagle’ and the latter invited the Irish Bellator star to Dagestan. Apparently, this show of camaraderie between his compatriot and his arch-rival didn’t sit well with ‘Mystic Mac’, who started feuding with Hughes online.

It seems the Irishman is spiraling partly because of this – being rejected and talked down by a young Irish MMA fighter who used to look up to him until recently must be infuriating for the famously egotistic McGregor. And as usual, McGregor is lashing out, perhaps trying to rile up his Irish support base by fighting with Nurmagomedov on national lines.

But the business aspect of his latest tirade also cannot be ruled out. McGregor hasn’t fought in four years. His plans of facing Logan Paul in an exhibition for a boatload of money have also fallen through. Perhaps he is looking for a big payday. And lashing out at Nurmagomedov in the way that he has, using the language that he has, maybe a desperate ploy for him to anger Nurmagomedov enough to actually accept a rematch with him.

Or maybe not, and it might just be that McGregor is just really angry because of all the recent drama and taking it out on his nemesis. What do you think about Conor McGregor’s outrageous tweet directed at Khabib Nurmagomedov?
