UFC fighter Cynthia Calvillo’s latest fights have not panned out as expected. In 2020 and 2021 combined, she was seen in four bouts but managed to win just one. She has lost her last three back-to-back fights against Katlyn Chookagian, Jessica Andrade, and Andrea Lee. In the last two fights, Calvillo lost through T/KO and it seems that she has hit a little bit of a rough patch in the flyweight division.

Hence, Calvillo seems interested in a return to the strawweight division. On her Instagram story, she shared that she will be returning to the strawweight division. She also tagged UFC President Dana White in the story. She wrote, “I’ll be back #115″.

Owing to her consecutive losses, this change might be a good opportunity for her to come back stronger in the lighter division. While she has switched her weight class a few times, fans could see her perform much more effectively at the strawweight division.

However, many have also pointed out that the fighter has previously failed to meet the 116 pounds mark. Because of this, she had moved up to 125 pounds.

Hence, it would be critical for her to make weight at the 115 pounds division. However, this decision might just turn her career around. Her future bouts in the strawweight division will tell whether dropping down was a good idea.
