Derrick Lewis attended a media interaction under the obligation of his approaching fight with Sergey Spivak. He talked about his two losses this year, his coming fight, and more. Reflecting on his back-to-back losses, Lewis joked that perhaps the media is casting some type of ‘voodoo’ on him in order to make up for his terrible luck in Texas. Additionally, he had an interesting take on Elon Musk acquiring Twitter.

2022 hasn’t been a particularly good year for Derrick Lewis. ‘The Black Beast’ had two fights in 2022 so far and lost both fights via KO. Coincidentally, both bouts took place in Lewis’s home state, Texas. And he feels this just hasn’t been his year.

Derrick Lewis expresses his thoughts on Elon Musk buying Twitter

In a rather light-hearted interaction with the media, a journalist asked Lewis, what was his take on Elon Musk buying Twitter. He said, “Well, I don’t care. Sh*t. Is he gonna give me money?” Answering to that, the reporter said, “He might not ban you like Instagram though,” recalling the brief ban imposed on Derrick Lewis’s Instagram handle.

Continuing to the topic, Lewis stated, “I’ve been hearing and seeing a lot of stuff that’s been going on with all of that people getting to really using the free speech on that platform right now. You know like, I don’t… I don’t care about that.” The Black Beast also had something to say about Elon Musk firing Twitter employees. “But he’s firing a lot of people, you know. Cutting down a lot.”

“It’s sad.” Lewis remarked as he wrapped up his response.

Lewis was shadowbanned on Instagram for his posts

In the same press conference, Derrick Lewis was asked about his account getting shadowbanned. Lewis answered that saying, “People been reporting every video I post.” Derrick Lewis’s Instagram feed is no less than a meme page. He posts those funny “fails” on his Instagram where things go wrong while individuals are doing something.

Lewis further added that he keeps telling people that the people in the video are “okay” but people still get offended and report his videos anyway. Derrick Lewis seems to be paying the price of being a public figure now. There is a set price associated with each of his actions and words now.

Derrick Lewis seems to have an additional reason to like prefer Twitter over Instagram now, thanks to Elon Musk, maybe.
