Curtis Blaydes carries a huge arsenal of weapons as he steps into the Octagon, staring down at his opponents. The heavyweight contender has proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with numerous times in the MMA cage. ‘Razor’ has won 18 fights in his professional career, and most of them were via knockouts.
However, he does have 4 losses on his record and interestingly enough, all the losses were within the UFC itself despite him having fought under other promotions. Here’s all about the losses faced by Blaydes at the hands of Francis Ngannou and more.

Curtis Blaydes is a heavyweight mainstay and that means having big power in his strikes. When he went up against Francis Ngannou, perhaps he faced power bigger than his own. Two out of Blaydes’ four losses have come from the French-Cameroonian’s hands. When the two first met at UFC Fight Night 86, during the second round of the bout, ‘Razor’ would get hit with a mean hook that left him with a very swollen right eye. While he still went for one takedown after another, when the round was over, the physician looked at his condition and the fight was called off. Blaydes’ eye was swollen enough for him to not be able to see out of it.
During their rematch, Blaydes saw a TKO finish in the very first round. While he wasn’t knocked out cold, ref Marc Goddard interfered in due time because ‘Razor’ looked like he was in much trouble and once he fell. Yet again, ‘The Predator’ took the win home.
At UFC Fight Night 185, Blaydes went up against Derrick Lewis. The fight had a lot of fans on the edges of their seats. In the second round of the fight, Lewis managed to time a brutal uppercut immediately dropping Blaydes to the mat. This was his third KO/TKO loss of all time.

Ref Marc Goddard has seen Curtis Blaydes lose more than once at this point. The last time he was in the Octagon was against Sergei Pavlovich. The Russian went toe-to-toe with Blaydes but managed to get the upper hand ending the fight in the very first round. Clearly, Blaydes is a heavyweight that rarely lets the fight go to decisions. This was the second time he faced a loss in the very first round and co-incidentally, both times, the ref in the cage was Goddard. Is the ref a bad omen for ‘Razor’? Now that’s some sort of conspiracy theory in the works. But now, let’s take a look at Blaydes’ achievements in the UFC.
What is Curtis Blaydes’ UFC record?
Even though his first-ever fight in the UFC was not a pretty big hit, he went on to win 13 fights in the MMA promotion. His story began to take form when he defeated Cody East in his second bout. However, the third fight against Adam Milstead, was overturned to a no-contest. Thereafter, the Chicago resident proceeded to win 4 back-to-back fights before facing his second defeat.

Needless to say, the defeat didn’t stop Blaydes. He later faced fighters like Justin Willis, Junior Dos Santos, and Volkov, and rose victorious. Now, ‘Razor’ is fresh off a win over Jailton Almeida, the one he defeated via punches at UFC 299. With a 1-fight winning streak, Blaydes gets ready to face Tom Aspinall at UFC 304, to try and claim the UFC interim heavyweight championship belt.
