Even his most recent bout with Alexander Volkov proved to be disastrous for him as Volkov stunned Pavlovich to clinch the victory by way of a unanimous decision.

Volkov was running a three-fight winning streak while on the other hand, Pavlovich was coming off with a fresh loss against Tom Aspinall. Pavlovich needed the win but Volkov’s smart and tactical playthrough never really let Pa͏vlovich to have any control over the match. The three-round battle turned out to be brutal for Pavlovich as Volkov drew blood, literally.

Volkov’s dominant reach and height helped him immensely in his fight as he maintained his distance and his shots like a long-range sniper to catch Pavlovich off-guard. The official decision was in the favour of Volkov who defeated Palvovich by way of unanimous decision. The judges scored the fight 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28. In the end, Volkov wanted to have a hug with his training mate, but Palvovich had some other plans.

In an act of sportsmanship, Volkov went to Palvovich’s corner after the victory to show him respect but the Russian was not having it as he shoved ‘Drago,’ safe to say now his ex-sparring partner, away from him. This act was caught on camera as the entire UFC community condemned the blatant disrespect of sportsmanship.

Sergei Pavlovich had a remarkable career with the UFC. To summarize his dominance, all six of his victories under the promotion were concluded in the first round by way of knockout. However, his last two matches have been a bit lackluster and the fans witnessed it.

The match felt as if Pavlovich was holding back, maybe it was because he was playing defensively. But nevertheless, this probable game plan didn’t work in his favor but what he did immediately after the fight was just disrespectful.

Furthermore, fans also seemed to be a bit critical of Pavlovich now as he could not deliver.

Alexander Volkov and Sergei Pavlovich were good friends ahead of this clash. Pavlovich might have expected that he could have ragdolled him but the opposite happened.
