Former UFC welterweight Ben Askren recently went after UFC star Nate Diaz on Twitter after a scathing comment by Diaz. Chiefly, Diaz retweeted an article in an attempt to take a jab at YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul.
However, in the process of his verbal attack, he ended up insulting Ben Askren as well, an act Askren didn’t take too kindly to.

Ben Askren was quick to return fire, and he immediately dismissed Nate Diaz on Twitter. He put out a video that saw Nate Diaz taking a backward step in his fight against Jorge Masvidal back in 2019. Stockton’s second son backed up just as Masvidal threatened to throw a flying knee and Askren made sure to slip in a verbal jab.

Ben Askren certainly knows all about not backing away from flying knees thrown by Masvidal given what happened at UFC 239. ‘Gamebred’ earned the fastest knockout in UFC history, standing at five seconds for the concussive blow he landed on Askren. The verbal jab put out by Askren is on-brand with his typical self-deprecating style of humor.

Nate is right, I suck at boxing. He sucks at MMA. If he wants me to prove it I can be in the USADA pool tomorrow. Would be happy to be the last fight on his contract.

However, he appears to be supremely confident in his skills and wants to be Diaz’s final fight on his current contract. There is some speculation about whether Nate Diaz will choose to walk away from the UFC after his contract expires. He certainly will be a hot free agent and may venture into the world of boxing moving forward.
