Jon Jones hasn’t fought in the Octagon since his last fight with Dominick Reyes. The former light-heavyweight champion told his fans that he’d make a comeback at UFC 282. However, not all things happen as planned.

‘Bones’ had challenged Stipe Miocic for his re-entry into the cage in the heavyweight division of the championship and took to Twitter to deliver his message.

‘Bones’ challenged Stipe Miocic

Recently, Johnny ‘Bones’ Jones challenged Stipe Miocic to sign a contract for a fight on Twitter. He tweeted, “I’m bringing all the heat @Stipemiocic, I got that fire you could never put out. Sign the contract #Ufc282.” But Miocic hasn’t responded to Jones’ calls.

Jones has been craving to get back into the Octagon and has reportedly planned for a comeback to UFC 282. Surprisingly, his presence was not observed at the December 10 card line-up. However, his hope and possible desperation to climb up in the UFC heavyweight division was reflected in his tweet. 

Fans had a lot to say about the challenge

Miocic has grown old and is on a steady decline. As a fan-favorite fighter, Bones’ challenge to the fighter disappointed many enthusiasts. Without a doubt, he got bashed in the comments. Nonetheless, fans would definitely love to see Jon Jones in the Octagon.

A fan even made a Dennis Rodman connection while replying to Jones’ tweet.

‘Bones’ even asked Miocic to sign the contract. Thus, while he had promised to make a return soon, the fight is not finalized yet.

Earlier in 2020, Jon Jones had a disagreement over remuneration with the UFC president, Dana White. Following the spite, he vacated the light-heavyweight championship. He previously said that he would sit out until an adequate offer was made by the UFC.

Previously, he had a one-year suspension for failing a test by USADA. However, his career faced a challenge when he failed a test again and had a 4-year ban implemented. He has also been compared with the controversial NBA legend, Dennis Rodman, for his behavior outside the Octagon. However, fans greatly anticipate his return.

Jones is considered the G.O.A.T., or the greatest of all time in the light-heavyweight division by many of his fans. He defended his title 11 times and has a sweet portfolio of 26-1-0, 1 NC. His fans indeed have the utmost desire to watch him return to the Octagon.
