Since losing the belt to Francis Ngannou, Miocic has not stepped inside the octagon. He has been angling at a trilogy bout with ‘The Predator’. However, as Ngannou requires surgery on his knees, he will be out for the rest of the year.

With Ngannou out of action for such a long time, the fight between Stipe Miocic and Jon Jones makes all the sense in the UFC heavyweight division. Also, the UFC can raise the stakes by making it for the UFC interim heavyweight championship.
