With a fighter like UFC middleweight Khamzat ‘Borz’ Chimaev, you either hate him to your core or you love everything that he stands for. Arguably one of the most controversial fighters on the UFC roster, the Swedish menace is also a really entertaining fighter. He has been having one of the most impressive runs in the UFC lately and is still undefeated.

Chimaev originally fought out of the welterweight division. However, he struggled with weight cuts, and cutting down seemed like a challenge to him. That is why, now the Swedish martial artist is going to be fighting out of the middleweight division. Waiting for him, as his first challenge is Paulo Costa. At UFC 294 (which is scheduled to be held on 21 October in Abu Dhabi), the two are going to set the stage on fire and it seems that Chimaev’s preparations are in full swing. The fans have shown their support for Chimaev, but not without leaving Costa with a fair warning from their end.

The UFC middleweight division just saw one of its best fighters get overthrown. Israel Adesanya lost his title to Sean Strickland. Now, the division is riddled with impressive fighters like Dricus Du Plessis, Israel Adesanya, Jared Cannonier, and more. Add to that a fighter like Chimaev and you know there is going to be fireworks.

Recently, a video of Khamzat Chimaev sparring and training has been going viral. The fighter looks quite good in the video with his accuracy and speed looking better than ever. However, just having those two in your arsenal just might not cut it now that he is back in the middleweight division.

Since Chimaev used to fight out of the welterweight division, fighting against opponents that are more or less his size and stature might need some getting used to. However, there is no doubt about the skills that ‘Borz’ possesses. It is a fact that Chimaev is known for his impressive ground game. However, the middleweight division already has a few names that are pretty good at that. How will Chimaev fare against fighters who are more comfortable with fighting in the middleweight division?

If that wasn’t enough, another reason to worry about is the way Gilbert Burns gave it to Chimaev when the two fighters clashed. Chimaev held his own and tried to go for takedowns, but Gilbert Burns bruised him up pretty badly. In the end, Chimaev won the fight by decision but wasn’t able to finish him off. His next fight, which is a middleweight bout against Paulo Costa, might just be tougher for him.

But all things considered, the fact that Chimaev hasn’t lost a fight in his professional career, definitely makes him one fighter that every middleweight prospect should watch out for. His drive to be at the top can get him a title shot, but first, Costa stands in his way.

Fans issue a warning to Paulo Costa as Chimaev goes ‘beast mode’

No one can deny that Khamzat Chimaev has a massive following in the UFC. When the fighter had arrived in the UK for a UFC event, he was flocked by hundreds of fans. Even now that he is going to be fighting Paulo Costa, his fans have shown up in his support. Mostly, people were amazed to see Chimaev look so good even though he had moved up a weight class.

Damn Khamzat is big at middleweight. At first I thought he might get outsized but he’s looking heavy.“, remarked one fan. It wasn’t long before similar comments started being dropped by other fans. “Wow he’s looking good“, and “Khamzat looking bigger than Costa. RIP Costa” – these were some of the comments dropped by surprised fans.

However, the warnings for Costa didn’t stop there as another fan commented the same. “RIP Paolo!“, said one Chimaev fan. Others chimed in with comments like, “Costa better be getting paid some serious money for this match, because khamzat is going to win this fight.“, and “Costa is in for a very long night“. “BRAVO KHAMZAT!!!!!“, exclaimed one fan of ‘Borz’.

In an attempt to even the odds, one Paulo Costa fan commented saying, “I can’t wait for the reactions and excuses after Costa flatlines this guy, oh it’s gonna be glorious lol“.
