Former UFC two-weight champion Conor McGregor is gearing up for his return. The MMA world is watchful of every move, yet a former UFC star is still unconvinced that it will happen. Much like McGregor, his former colleague is champing at the bit for a fight in the boxing scene. Both had a poor run of form in their last few UFC outings too and have been on the sidelines for a long time now. However, the Gorilla believes that unlike himself, McGregor is not going to step in to fight ever again.

At 35 years old, McGregor has the mammoth task of proving to the masses that he is still a double-championship caliber fighter, despite the gruesome injury he suffered at UFC 264. McGregor is slated to face TUF 31 opposition coach Michael Chandler as early as December 2023. However, seasoned former UFC Middleweight Darren Till is trying to kill the buzz around ‘Notorious’s December return. How? Well, he has some bold notions and made some keen observations about the Irishman.

In a recent interview with Sportslens, Darren Till, a teammate of the prodigious UFC welterweight Khamzat Chimaev, gave his two cents on the potential ‘Notorious’ comeback. As the interview kicked off, the host drew an interesting parallel, raising an intriguing question to Till. He quizzed, “Conor vs. Khabib – obviously, probably the biggest pay-per-view numbers ever… Wasn’t it 2.4 million? There’s no chance – you don’t think ‘Sugar’ [Sean O’Malley] can get upto those numbers?”

Replying to the interviewer’s question, Till retorted, “I don’t think anyone’s gonna [be able to do it]. I think that was it – Connor’s never coming back in my opinion. But we can’t disregard the guy’s honor – you have to give [him] respect.”

It seems Till follows McGregor’s social media handles quite closely as made a keen observation, “Every recording on Twitter he’s just drunk as f*** and I’m just crying my eyes out laughing at him. It will take him a while, but he’ll find his peace. My opinion of Conor is you have to respect what he’s done, but it’s time to let go. He’s struggling to let go.”

Darren Till delved deeper into his perspective on Conor McGregor’s current state. He shared his thoughts on what he believes is driving McGregor’s decision-making and emotional struggle. Till illuminated, “Conor’s struggling [with] letting it go. That’s why he’s struggling – he doesn’t want to let it go. Well, it’s time to let it go now. He’s older – he doesn’t seem like he used to, you know.”

Despite having the finances and his wonderful family, McGregor’s current struggle lies in his reluctance to move on. It’s only a matter of time before he realizes that he’s battling within himself and must eventually come to terms with it.

The ex-Welterweight further added, “He’s got the money – he got his beautiful kids… The only problem with Conor right now is he just doesn’t want to let it go. And there’s gonna come a day where he’s gonna go – ‘You know what? I’m fighting with myself here. I need to let it go.’”
