Paddy Pimblett has lost fans much faster than he gained them. While fans were enjoying his controversial victory, his accusations of Ariel Helwani falling flat hampered his fan following. UFC commentator Michael Bisping and his co-host, Anthony Smith, have talked about Pimblett’s comparisons with Conor McGregor. Bisping felt that Pimblett’s rise was not comparable to McGregor’s rise. He mentioned how McGregor had defeated established fighters in his initial fights.

Paddy Pimblett got some serious backlash after he took digs at Ariel Helwani. However, Bisping said it was still possible for Pimblett to get his fans back. ‘The Count’ said that fans of the sport were very forgiving and forget things fast. He felt Pimblett could again have his supporters if he could win a few fights and stay cool.

Bisping has advice for Paddy Pimblett

Talking on his YouTube podcast Bisping and Anthony Smith’s ‘Beleive You Me’, Bisping had some suggestions for Paddy Pimblett. He said, “You can’t really compare the rise of McGregor to the rise of Paddy, you can’t in Connor’s fourth fight he was knocking out Dustin Poirier you know, now Paddy still has the ability to do that of course he does.” 

Adding further, Bisping said,” You know what I mean, and he made a couple of little PR mistakes you know what I mean. Hey the sport forgives fast and quickly, you know. All you’ve got to do out is go out there, beat someone and that’s it … and it’s all forgotten about.”

Bisping shared his views on how Pimblett could make his way back into his fan’s hearts. Bisping said, “Go out there, smoke someone and be cool and be funny and all the rest of it everyone forgets you know what I mean as I always say this sport is about what have you done for me lately.”

Paddy Pimblett’s beef with Ariel Helwani angered fans

Paddy Pimblett and his manager landed in a soup after their claims were found false. Pimblett had claimed Helwani made a lot of money from interviewing fighters. He further said that Helwani had bad-mouthed him in the McAfee show with Pat MacAfee. Ariel Helwani countered his accusations with substantial proof. So, Pimblett and his manager were criticized by many experts and fans.
