Conor McGregor is back. Or at least, he’s back for testing at the USADA. Even though USADA won’t be a part of the UFC’s anti-doping program going forward, they still have McGregor’s samples. And now the company has an update on Mystic Mac’s samples.

The agency has been previously criticized for its questionably long testing procedures. However, McGregor will have to go through with it whether he likes it or not. The testing will take the fighter six months. So until then, there’s just about no chance McGregor gets to fight. Here’s everything you need to know.

The last time Conor McGregor performed inside the cage was in 2021. His last fight put him out of commission for good. Around the first round’s end, ‘The Notorious’ threw a kick against Dustin Poirier. However, once he pulled his leg back and put it on the mat, it snapped.

A broken shin resulted in a devastating loss. The physical pain of the broken leg put McGregor away for a good while. In the meantime, he kept teasing his fight against Michael Chandler which is yet to happen. And amidst all of this, McGregor kept thrashing USADA which in all probability led to the organization’s fateful exit from the UFC.

However, all of that happened after McGregor confirmed having sent in his samples. The anti-doping agency has now confirmed their presence in their tests. Does this mean ‘The Notorious’ can finally compete in 2024 at UFC 300? At least the fans think so.

MMA reporter Aaron Bronsteter put up McGregor’s status on his X handle. The organization has ensured that they won’t be putting out any biased results even though the split between them and the UFC has been pretty sour. Now, with McGregor officially in the pool, UFC 300 looks inevitable.

After McGregor submitted his samples, things slowly spiraled out of control. USADA CEO Travis Tygart put out an extensive statement more or less flaming the UFC for their split. He blamed McGregor and Joe Rogan for their insensitive comments against the organization’s work.

Now, UFC has a new drug-testing partner, Drug Free Sport International. They will be taking over from January 2024 right after USADA’s contract expires.
