McGregor is known not only for his fighting skills but also because of his ability to get under his opponent’s skin. The 35-year-old is among the most sought-after athletes in the MMA, and the fans are eager to see him in action soon. However, there has been no official statement regarding his comeback, and regardless, ‘The Notorious’ has already picked up his opponent. But why did he choose the 185-pound division?

In his recent Instagram video, Daniel Cormier shared his feelings regarding the situation and said: ” Conor McGregor said he’s back against Michael Chandler at a 185 pounds. We saw him fight Cerrone at 170, Diaz at 170. Wasn’t he the featherweight champ and the lightweight champ. Conor McGregor is as much of a middleweight as Alex Pereira is.Pereira is not a middleweight. He’s a light heavyweight. He weighs 235 pounds. Why is he saying 185? Well, you got to watch the video, and you hear the laugh at the end.

Cormier further goes on about Mystic Mac’s evil ploy, comparing him with  Dr. Evil, and continues, “And that’s what McGregor’s doing. McGregor’s playing the game. McGregor’s being the villain because the villain manipulates. The villain is the puppet master. Michael Chandler refuses to play the bad guy. He should have played the bad guy a little bit in this situation to McGregor and said F..OFF. I’m done with you f….you. But he never did, so now it’s compounded.”

As the fans wait desperately for the two-division champ to return, it will be interesting to see whether ‘The Notorious’ is the same fighter he was a few years back.
