It appears that Conor McGregor is venturing into a new business realm. Following his success in the liquor and sporting industries, the part owner of the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) has now announced a new BKFC game – one that surely is great, and one that, according to him, would revolutionize the combat gaming sector.

McGregor has some experience working with video games. Since he made a major name in the UFC, he has been a part of several UFC games as a playable character for the fans to enjoy. And it was while discussing his avatar in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare that ‘The Notorious’ took the opportunity to announce his deep dive into the world of gaming.

On X, a user by the name of @LiamHeavy16 shared quite an intriguing tweet. He wrote that despite being a part of five UFC games, the best Conor McGregor has ever looked in a game is in Call of Duty. It was then that McGregor re-tweeted it and dropped the major news. The Irishman revealed he and the BKFC are making a BKFC game. He said, “These two are pretty good in fairness. I am currently working on a @bareknucklefc video game! Fast pace action with nasty cuts and blood splatter and the sound of bare knuckles on skull impact never heard nor seen before in a video game. Stay tuned!”

McGregor has seen the success the UFC games found under EA Sports. So now he would like to get his share by bringing his game into the sphere. After all, it has already been six years for the BKFC. And despite still being relatively new, the BKFC has finally started getting legal approvals from more and more states in the UFC, helping it skyrocket towards major success.

If the BKFC does land a game, it seems likely that Mike Perry and Austin Trout would surely be the ones gracing the cover. After all, they are the top stars in the promotion. However, seeing that it’s Conor McGregor announcing the game, many fans are still unconvinced about his claims that there actually is one in the making or one that’s actually as good as he says it will be.

Fans cast their doubt on Conor McGregor’s claims

Many were surely hyped up when Conor McGregor made this major announcement. However, a fact that many found hard to digest was about “the sound of bare knuckles on skull impact never heard nor seen before in a video game.” It was not because many found it impossible to pull off; it was because several other games have already done it, unlike what ‘The Notorious’ claimed.

In fact, a few users were quick to remind him of the fact in the comments, as they mentioned the games that have done it before. They wrote, “Have your devs research Fight Night Round 4 and Fight Night Champions if they haven’t already,” and one even named a major franchise that did it before, Mortal Kombat.  “Guess you never played mortal kombat.”

It is also worth noting that Conor McGregor has been inactive in combat sports for over three years now, and with announcements of multiple returns in between that once hyped-up fans, this has led to a drop in the credibility of his words. As a result, some fans were quick to question whether the game would actually ever see the light of day.

A user pretended to be from the future and claimed that McGregor has yet to release the game. He wrote “Hi, it’s me from 6 years into the future. The game still hasn’t come out, but he swears its any day now.” Another user believes McGregor does not have the money to back a AAA game that’ll actually be as good as he claims. The user wrote,  “It’s funny how many sheep are eating this up. As much money as you think Conor has, he does NOT have the money to finance a triple-A quality game like UFC 4, so there’s a good chance this game will either never see the light of day or will be much, much worse mechanics wise.”

However, not everyone was speaking out against this recent announcement by the Irishman. The BKFC has surely earned many fans in the past six years, and they surely have been chomping at the bit to get a bare-knuckle fighting game. So when the game was finally announced, many couldn’t help but express their happiness. Some users wrote, “Bare knuckle game would be so hard😈🔥🔥🔥”, “This is awesome; yesterday I was wondering if there will ever be a bkfc game. Would be really fun to get my hands on this,” and “We have been needing a good fighting game for years.” Well, it surely looks like McGregor will now have to live up to the hype he has created.
