At 35 years of age, Conor McGregor is in the Twilight of his successful career. Reports suggest that he has only two fights left in his contract. He has already lost his prime years because of his leg injury. Will he be able to become a champion again? According to Thomson and Big John McCarthy, he can if he puts on a dominant show against Chandler. In their recent ‘Weighing In’ podcast the pair analyzed the next big step for ‘The Notorious’ one.

Thomson shared that the fight holds a lot of importance and the winner might get a title shot. He said, “I already said this on the show Arman will fight the winner of Dustin and Islam, and whoever wins this fight; I could see them jumping the line and getting the next title shot after that. Depending on the performance if it’s Conor he for sure gets the title shot. If it’s Chandler if he finishes Conor, if he finishes him and he does it impressively, I think he does get the title shot.”
