Conor McGregor has brought a lot of attention to the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship after joining the ranks among the owners just a few months ago. That McGregor rub seems to be working effectively as two of his former rivals are starting to garner attention ahead of their clash in January. Former UFC fighters Eddie Alvarez and Jeremy Stephens will clash in their headlining fistfight at KnuckleMania V, and fans seem pretty interested in this matchup.
Another BKFC event and another pair of UFC stars fighting in the main event as famous combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani revealed Conor McGregor and David Feldman‘s January 25 event card. As ‘The Notorious’ took to Instagram to share the excitement with a comment on BKFC’s post: “KnuckleMania,” the fight between Jeremy Stephens and Eddie Alvarez seems to be the only confirmed out for now, with the rest hopefully getting revealed in a matter of weeks.
But what caught fans’ attention were the Dubliner’s former UFC rivals. The Irishman shares history with both of them, especially with Alvarez, whom McGregor defeated to become UFC’s first-ever simultaneous two-division champion. However, although the 36-year-old never had the chance to fight Jeremy Stephens, he remains a remembered figure on whom McGregor dropped one of his famous one-liners.

Fans still remember Conor McGregor’s one-liner
Straight from the get-go, it was expected that fans would first pick up the Jeremy Stephens moment when they saw this fight getting confirmed by Ariel Helwani, but they didn’t spare Eddie Alvarez either. While referencing the UFC 205 press conference, one fan commented, “Eddie vs ‘who the f**k is that guy,'” while a couple of other fans gave everyone a fair reminder of how Conor McGregor beat both fighters, physically and also verbally. They added, “Conor’s sons,” and, “Connors [children] fighting on January 25th huh,” on X.

However, there was a cry among fans to see Mike Perry back in the BKFC. He headlined the previous edition of KnuckleMania and is one of the promotion’s biggest stars. However, since the chatter about Conor McGregor having beef with ‘Platinum’ due to his loss to Jake Paul came to light, Perry hasn’t fought in a bare-knuckle contest. “They need to bring Mike Perry back in and let go of McGregor’s ridiculous firing. Perry is born to Bare Knuckle box,” said one fan, expressing his wish to see the ‘King of Violence’ return to the fold.

On the other hand, BKFC’s stock seems to have grown considerably since Conor McGregor’s involvement. One X user added, “BKFC is slowly but surely getting there with these classics,” in appreciation of the quality matchups that the promotion always has in store for bare-knuckle enthusiasts.
Moreover, being a UFC fighter in the past might be a good thing because everybody wants to see Eddie Alvarez take on Jeremy Stephens. “This should be a good fight !! I’m here for it,” one fan added in that regard. What do you think about Conor McGregor’s opponents clashing inside the BKFC squared circle? Drop your comments below.
