Nate Diaz and Dillon Danis got into a scuffle after UFC 281. Reports have confirmed that the famous ‘Stockton slap’ was dished to one of Dillon Danis’ teammates. The police reportedly handcuffed Dillon Danis following the clash outside Madison Square Garden. Dillon Danis and Nate Diaz’s teammate Jake Shields engaged in a Twitter battle. Conor McGregor made a small entry too.
Both teams claimed to have smacked the other. Dillon Danis’ close friend McGregor has now joined the Twitter battle. Surprisingly, he was complimenting Diaz’s slap. Conor has had a 1-1 rivalry with Nate Diaz. In their most recent fight, McGregor came out victorious by a majority decision.

McGregor tweeted “Haha nice shot” the tweet was later deleted. Conor McGregor is known to be a close friend of Dillon Danis. His tweet complimenting Nate Diaz might not have been something Team Danis would have liked.
Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz’s rivalry
Nate Diaz and McGregor have fought twice at UFC 196 and UFC 202. Both fighters have won a fight. Diaz took the first fight, but Conor McGregor won the rematch. McGregor won on a majority decision on a 48-47 score in his favor.
Despite being aggressive toward each other throughout the build-up of the fights. The bad blood was visible even at the weigh-ins. After the second fight, however, ‘The Notorious’ showed respect for his opponent’s grit and skills.
McGregor and Danis’s friendship
Jiu- Jitsu black belt Dillon Danis has been Conor McGregor’s close friend. The Bellator fighter has been Mystic Mac’s grappling buddy. Dillon Danis started working with McGregor when he was preparing to fight against Nate Diaz. The duo has bonded well since then and Danis considers McGregor his big brother.

McGregor’s friendship has helped Dillon Danis. He himself accepted that being close to McGregor has given him a lot of recognition. Danis has fought two opponents in Bellator and won both. The rivalry between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz has a possibility of being renewed in the boxing ring, but till then fans can enjoy these occasional shots fired at each other.
