Conor McGr͏egor and Michael Chandler were confirmed for a UFC 303 press conference in Ireland. However, the promotion unanimously decided to postpone the presser indefinitely, which is equivalent to it being canceled for now. The UFC even wrote an apology to the 8000 fans who managed to secure the tickets to the conference. It is surprising because McGregor rarely cancels events and he looked pretty excited to announce the news during one of his lives.
The sudden change in plans has resulted in rumors that ‘The Notorious’ might be injured, or maybe he wants more time. The UFC insiders also confirmed the same as they discussed the various possibilities behind the cancelation; the most prominent being an injury sustained by McGregor.

Speaking on the canceled presser in Ireland for UFC 303, Josh Thompson revealed on the ‘Weighing In’ podcast, “A couple of sources that I have heard from, was that he is dealing with a little bit of injury you know Conor is and so that they may, he should be good to go for the fight time. But if he is dealing with the injury, they did not want him being visually seen at the press conference, so they did not want to expose that I don’t know whether he was in a walking boot; I don’t know what it is.”
Big John McCarthy seemed to agree with the reasoning as he further speculated on the chances of the 35-year-old getting a cut and avoiding the press conference, as he did not want Chandler to see where the injury was. Meanwhile, before this announcement, the former dual-weight champion was seen partying with his fiancé at The Black Forge Inn, and he seemed to be in good spirits.
Thomson also commented on McGregor’s partying and his habits, saying, “My second take is from somebody else and they said they, he is actually going to try to extend the camp. He wants more time trying to push this off; until you know, later.” Thomson pointed out how he got to know that ‘Mystic Mac’ still wants to fight and is not backing out, but his drinking coupled with his physical strength after a three-year hiatus is making it hard for him to get fight-ready.
While Dana White and the UFC have refrained from dwelling on the reason behind canceling the press conference, Conor McGregor did not shy away from addressing the issue at hand and took to social media to apologize to his fans.
