Conor McGregor has found himself in the middle of controversy again after accusations of bias on TUF 31. UFC President Dana White announced earlier this year that the Irishman would coach against Michael Chandler on season 31 of ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ The pair are expected to fight after the show on a date TBD.

McGregor and Chandler recently arrived in Vegas, officially marking the beginning of TUF 31 filming. No sooner did “The Notorious” one kick off his TUF run, than the controversies started pouring in. News broke out that McGregor was kicking out TUF contestants to make room for his own guys. Amid these allegations, UFC welterweight Gilbert Burns also accused McGregor of cutting one of Burns’ friends to make room for McGregor’s own.

Now, McGregor himself has shared an update about the show and the decisions he has made.

Conor McGregor provides an update on TUF 31

In a recent post on his Facebook page, Conor McGregor shared an update about Team McGregor. ‘Mystic Mac’ shared a picture of himself with head coach John Kavanagh. In the post caption, the 34-year-old mentioned the selection process. However, McGregor’s update was cheeky in that it was a reference to a scene from the popular show ‘The Simpsons.’

McGregor wrote, “Good practice, team! Ok it’s time for the easiest part of any coach’s job.. the cuts. Now, while I wasn’t able to cut everyone I wanted to, I have cut a lot of you. Wendell is cut. Rudy is cut. Janey, you’re gone. Stephen, I like your hustle. That’s why it was so hard to cut you. Congratulations! The rest of you made the team! Except you, you and you.”

While the Irishman is having his fun with the whole process, his critics are not holding anything back. Gilbert Burns went after McGregor on Twitter for cutting his friend Loik Radzhabov. However, some others like UFC lightweight Terrance McKinney appreciated McGregor looking out for his own.

As for McGregor himself, the former double champion denied all these allegations in a deleted tweet.

Another UFC fighter who went after McGregor for alleged TUF changes was middleweight Chris Curtis. However, the former champion responded to Curtis denying any such incident happening.

In a deleted tweet, he wrote, “not true. I only know 1 guy on this show and he put himself forward for it. And he is now, after today, set to fight the No. 1 seed! I didn’t ask nor request nothing! And I certainly didn’t have people removed. I’m just tryna get back in the mix myself so f*ck off.”

At the moment, everything is speculation, and there is no proof of McGregor favoring any TUF contestants. Regardless, controversies have already started mere days after McGregor showed up for TUF.
