Everything is boiling down ahead of Valentina Shevchenko vs. Alexa Grasso 2 this weekend. The heat is turning up, and so is the verbal warfare. However, it still remains a contest of skills, sheer determination, and temperament. If Conor McGregor‘s previous comments are to be believed, the safer bet would be ‘Bullet’ who has it to even defeat a former UFC champion.

Let’s turn the clock back to 2019 when the Kyrgyz fighter annihilated Liz Carmouche to defend her title for the second time. Soon, the MMA world was lit up with talk of her dominance. Perplexed by these, Henry Cejudo chimed in with a hilarious take. Expressing his desire to become the world’s first intersex champion, ‘Triple C’ called her out. However, in a clash of fists, the Irishman has the former flyweight champion taking down Cejudo.

In a resurfaced clip that is making rounds on the internet, the fans could hear ‘The Notorious’ singing praises of Shevchenko. For him, the Shevchenko sisters, including Antonina, were the epitome of fighting. But it was the younger of the Shevchenko sisters who was a notch above and “unbelievable”.

“I tell you what, that Shevchenko, that woman, the Shevchenko sisters are phenomenal fighters. But Valentina is unbelievable,” the Irish fighter declared. Following this, he mentioned her length and range, clubbed with dangerous strikes, were enough to even dismantle Cejudo.

“One of the greatest female fighters there ever was. So I would say Valentina, with the length and the range and the dangerous strikes would probably spark Henry,” McGregor concluded.

The rematch between two flyweights took a little over six months to materialize, but it couldn’t have come at a better time. Shevchenko is confident of reigning supreme again and expressed the same when she appeared in an interview with Marc Raimondi. Her confident remarks even attracted McGregor’s attention.

“What a fighter is The Bullet, Shevchenko! Wow!!” he commented. Hence, it appears Shevchenko is in McGregor’s good books and has his respect. The fans and ‘Mystic Mac’ will closely follow the action when she steps into the ring as a challenger for the first time in six years at Noche UFC.
