The classic Conor McGregor is back in action. The former dual-weight champion is set to face Michael Chandler on June 29th at UFC 303. However, his classic witty side has returned before anything else. As ‘Mystic Mac’ has recently attacked not only Khabib Nurmagomedov but nearly every champion of the promotion verbally.

In his recent escapade, the former dual-weight champion took shots at Kamaru Usman, Ilia Topuria, Leon Edwards, and more. McGregor might have thought that his antics might go unanswered but well, he was wrong, as Kamaru Usam came out with blazing guns, calling out ‘Notorious’. Let’s see what the former welterweight champion has said about McGregor.

Conor McGregor is known to blur out his unfiltered opinion on the world and that is one of the reasons many fighters stay a bit upset with him. Nonetheless, this might work well for him to generate revenue but it hinders his relationship with most of the fighters. Fairly recently, McGregor debuted on the box office streaming sites and, well, he fired shots at every possible champion and former champion in the promotion. He called out Ili Khabib Nurmagomedov, Kamaru Usman, Ilia Topuria, Alex Volkanovski, Leon Edwards, and Belal Muhammad.

Nonetheless, most of the people he called out have not returned the favor to McGregor, except Kamaru Usman. The former welterweight champion in his latest episode of ‘Pound4Pound’ took shots at Conor McGregor. Usman added that it would be better for McGregor if he would just have a little respect for his fellow fighters. “It’s more than just money, at what point does this become more than money? At what point does this become the integrity of the sport? At the end of the day, Conor is who Conor is. Conor’s done some pretty fantastic things in this sport of mixed martial arts, for the UFC, he has. But Conor, so have I! You were a champion, and so was I! So at the end of the day…where I have a little issue is where you say ‘Oh, he’s a bum!’, you can’t say that, Conor,” said Usman.

He further added, “There needs to be some level of respect here, because, at the end of the day, that’s what this sport is all about, The respect and discipline that we all put in to get to the top of the sport, and that seems to be something that he’s lacking…I’m not a bum because if you wanted an opportunity to fight me, I gave Conor two opportunities to fight me. Two opportunities while I was champion…but you didn’t”

Nonetheless, Kamaru Usman’s assessment of McGregor’s position was on strike considering the fact that it was just uncalled for ‘Notorious to call out every fighter. In the end, Usman advised McGregor to refrain from taking whiskey. “I think it’s better to put that whiskey bottle down and actually come back to your wits, and be a good father and a good role model” ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ didn’t stop there; he took the helm and attacked ‘Notorious’ for wanting to fight him back in the days.

Usman would have done some questionable damage to McGregor

Back in 2022, Conor McGregor wanted to clash against the then-welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman for a fight. The former dual-weight champion asserted that he wanted to face Usman in order to become the first triple-weight champion of the world. Nonetheless, the fight never happened for obvious reasons. Well, two years down the line, Usman has come forward to explain how bad of an idea it was for McGregor to call him out.

In the same episode where he attacked McGregor, he said, “Can you imagine me fighting Conor? Like that wouldn’t even be fair… Everyone has a puncher’s chance. But it would not be fair, You saw what Khabib did to him at ’55. Now, imagine me doing that to him at ’70 and I’m not just going to take him down. I’m gonna march forward, I’m gonna hit this guy… I would do some bad things to Conor.”

Well, McGregor was a good fighter but Usman was on a whole other level when he was a champion and the fight was a bad day for ‘Notorious.’ Nonetheless, what’s your opinion about their clash? State your thoughts in the comments below.
