Conor McGregor Teases Surprising Big News as “Tragic” Update in UFC 5 Leaves Fans Frustrated

Video game enthusiasts went into a frenzy when EA Sports announced the launch of UFC 5 and returned with the Prime Series collection’s second part. Needless to say, the previous UFC games performed pretty well and kept the fight fans hooked to their consoles. But this time, things might just be a little bit different. Conor McGregor recently took to Instagram and shared a post on his story that showcased his avatars for two new games. But the fighting community was not happy at all with how ‘The Notorious’ looked in the latest UFC game.

The Irish mixed martial artist hinted at his appearance in not just the UFC 5 video game, but also in a new version of the famed war game, Call of Duty. He wrote on his IG story, “Possibly. I am in a new game now but about to be announced in the next few days. Let’s see… @callofduty @easportsufc @newgame?” 

Meanwhile, the anticipation for the new edition of the UFC game was quite high, with the last edition being about 4 years old now. EA Sports hinted about the release of UFC 5 just a year ago. Now, as the game found its way to the online market, the fight fans seemed dissatisfied with how McGregor looked.

The character has the classic Conor McGregor beard and a couple of tattoos. Between the first and the second tattoo, MCGREGOR is spelled, while toward the lower abdomen area, the word NOTORIOUS is inked. The left arm of the in-game character also has a flower tattooed. McGregor’s game avatar was recently shared by happypunch on Instagram, and from the looks of it, the sporting community was disappointed at EA for the design flaws.

As soon as the post hit the social media platform, the fight fans began to diss EA Sports for the defective design in McGregor’s character model. Most of the fans claimed that it was nothing but a tragic job. A comment read, “EA has done such a tragic job with UFC games. Look at what 2K has been doing with wwe games which are far more complex. Its incredible. Or maybe just look at undisputed boxing game made by indie devs. Far superior than the jokes that EA keeps coming up with.”

One of the fans claimed that the team should have simply transferred the data from the previous game, instead of redesigning ‘The Notorious’. The fan wrote, “Why didn’t they just transfer the data from UFC 4  EA how stupid you gotta be to try and re-design a guy who hasn’t been in the cage for 3 years.” Another fan compared the previous design with the new one, quoting, “How the hell could they make him more real in UFC 4 and then do this s**t?” Meanwhile, another comment read, “Just when you think it can’t get any worse EA comes through and says hold my beer.”

Some of the fans seemed to believe that the flaw in the design was just because of McGregor’s absence from the UFC for the last three years. A fan commented, “He has been out for so long that even the game developers forgot how he looks,” while another fan wrote, “Maybe if you fight they’ll make it look better.”

A few fans refused to accept the design to be that of the Irishman himself. “Bro that ain’t mcgregor,” wrote an enthusiast. Another fan claimed that the design team simply added tattoos and a beard to an older design. The comment read, “Slapped some tattoos and a beard on him and called him McGregor.”

One of the fans commented that it was probably McGregor’s fault for not showing up when the game developers had to take facial pictures. The comment went like this, “Prob didnt show up when he had to take Facial pics.”
