The classic Conor McGregor that we know of seems to be back in action. The former dual-weight star might not be facing anyone in the octagon right now but that does not stop him from trash-talking against other fighters. ‘Mystic Mac’ decided to attack Kamaru Usman again as he had done before his UFC 303 fight, which Usman claims, the Irishman backed out of.  He recently decided to answer some fan questions on a livestream and Kamaru Usman just got slammed by him. McGregor had faced blazing guns from Usman before, so maybe this was his way of returning the favor.

During his Duelbits livestream, he answered various questions, and when it came to rivalries, ‘The Notorious’ did not hold back. One fan asked, “Usman is talking sh** Conor what do you think?” To this, the Irishman quickly answered, “Usman who is Usman? Don’t know. Don’t know him don’t give a fu** about him yeah”, quite similar to Mystic’s viral comeback “Who the fu** is that guy” aimed at Jeremy Stephens. Interestingly this is not the first time that he took a jab at Usman on Duelbits. When McGregor was supposed to fight Chandler, he appeared on another Duelbits livestream as a part of the fight campaign. In true MacGregor fashion, he lashed out at many fighters and one of them was Usman.

Usman is talking crazy right now,” Conor ‘Notorious’ McGregor fired off, aiming at Kamaru ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ Usman’s recent misfortunes. “Where’s Usman right now? What happened in his last fight again? I can’t even remember where you’re at in your game, bro. You’re nothing to me.” With a three-fight losing streak—falling to Leon ‘Rocky’ Edwards twice and Khamzat ‘Borz’ Chimaev—Usman’s recent slide has become perfect ammunition for McGregor’s trash talk. Usman’s last win? All the way back in 2021 against Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington.

But Usman isn’t getting caught up in McGregor’s taunts. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ has his sights set on Belal ‘Remember the Name’ Muhammad, even calling himself a better version of the reigning welterweight champ. Once the king of the welterweight division from 2019 to 2022, Usman hasn’t forgotten how he was dethroned by Edwards. He’s also taken to X to remind Muhammad that he was barely a blip in the rankings during Usman’s reign.

The back-and-forth between McGregor and Usman isn’t new either. Usman called McGregor out for a fight in the past, only to be turned down by the Irishman. That rejection set the stage for their current beef, and now, even Usman isn’t holding back on the jabs.

Kamaru Usman refuted Conor McGregor’s trash talk

The former champ had criticized ‘Mystic Mac’ in ‘Pound4Pound’ before. He took shots at the latter and added that it would be good if McGregor had a little respect for his fellow fighters. “It’s more than just money, at what point does this become more than money? At what point does this become the integrity of the sport? At the end of the day, Conor is who Conor is. Conor’s done some pretty fantastic things in this sport of mixed martial arts, for the UFC, he has. But Conor, so have I! You were a champion, and so was I! So, at the end of the day…where I have a little issue is where you say ‘Oh, he’s a bum!’, you can’t say that, Conor,” said Usman.

He also said that the sport demands a level of respect because that is what a sport is all about. He even criticized McGregor’s drinking habits and chastised him for refusing two fight opportunities with him. Usman said, “I gave Conor two opportunities to fight me while I was champion. I told him: ‘Hey, if you want a crack at that third belt, who better?’ I was on the run that I was on. Who better for you to come up and fight?”

Back in 2022, McGregor wanted to become a three-belt champion and wanted to face Usman since he was the welterweight champ back then. However, the fight did not happen and later on, Usman declared that it was a bad idea for McGregor to call him out. Nonetheless, what is your opinion on their trash-talking and online clash?
