After a successful Hollywood debut, Conor McGregor is all geared up to return to the Octagon. However, reports suggest that the former two-division champion is now in some trouble and that too with the Irish. This time around McGregor is facing a backlash from his own people for his new business venture.

He is currently focused on converting one of his pubs into a four-story hotel. While the investment in the project is massive, the local residents don’t quite agree with it. Let us delve into the details of the whole investment and find out why he is facing protests against it.

‘Mystic Mac’ is currently at the twilight of his fighting career at 35-years-old. With only two fights left in his contract, McGregor has already prepared his retirement plans by investing in different businesses. He holds his own whiskey brand,  Proper Number Twelve and two pubs the Black Forge Inn in Crumlin and the Marble Arch in Drimnagh. Now the Dubliner wants to convert one of his pubs into a four-storey hotel. He had purchased the ‘Waterside’ pub in 2022 as a part of investment. Although it has stayed inactive for quite some time now, it now seems that it will now go under construction.

The former-two division champion has asked permission to demolish the building in the town of Howth. According to the reports the Dubliner wants to put up a a new four-story hotel and a five-story pub in its place. However, his new venture is facing a lot of resentment. The local people have already lodged a complain with the Fingal County Council. One of the biggest concerns for them is the roof top noise which might hamper the people around. McGregor in one his recent Instagram Q and A session also pointed out as to how he was waiting for the green signal to start his project. It will now be interesting to see whether he gets the nod ahead after the local protests.

The Dubliner will now look to shift his focus on fighting as he plans to return to the Octagon. He was last seen inside the Octagon in 2021 and his absence from the Octagon has raised a lot of questions. McGregor is known to be one of the hardest working fighters in the UFC. However, former UFC insider Josh ‘The Punk’ Thomson believes McGregor needs more time before making a comeback.

Josh ‘The Punk’ Thomson and Big John McCarthy recently took to their ‘Weighing In’ podcast to discuss varied topics. During the conversation Thomson pointed out about the much-awaited return of Conor McGregor. While the fans are super excited to witness the superstar back in action, ‘The Punk’ had a bit of an issue . During his absence from the Octagon, McGregor ventured into a variety of things which might have affected his fitness and skill. While speaking to the former UFC referee he said, “I think I would be more impressed with knowing the dedication the time being put in,”

He further added,  “It is the traveling all around it does have an effect on your body and for him to get back in even if he gets back in the gym two to three times a day the first month is just getting him body his body into shape to go through a camp. . .” McGregor is undoubtedly one of the biggest superstars in the UFC at the moment.
