Former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira claimed to finish the UFC stars Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz on the same night. In response, the former two-division champion McGregor struck Oliveira with some harsh words.

‘Do Bronx’ recently lost his lightweight title after he failed to make weight for the main event at UFC 274. However, he still defeated the challenger Justin Gaethje in the first round of the fight via submission.

After this big win, many speculated on a title fight for the Brazilian with the top contenders from the division, including the Irishman McGregor. However, Oliveira wants more than that.

Recently, the former champion stated he could knockout ‘The Notorious’ and make Nate Diaz tap on the same night. He wrote on Twitter, Just for the record, I like to break records and I want to break another one… Fighting twice in same night. I can knock Conor out and make Dias tap. What do you think @danawhite?”

Apparently, Oliveira’s words didn’t sit well with the pay-per-view star McGregor. He quickly responded to the Brazilian by taking a nasty jibe at him. McGregor wrote in the comments, “Shut up, you bum, and get back to that favela and pay your piece.”

First, it was the Stockton slugger Diaz who started this thread by calling out the Brazilian after UFC 274. However, ‘Do Bronx’ pulled the Irishman into it too.

Will Conor McGregor and Charles Oliveira fight for the vacant title

The UFC lightweight gold is currently vacant after ‘Do Bronx’ lost it by missing weight. However, he has secured the number one position in the title race with a win over Gaethje last Saturday. But who will he fight?

‘The Notorious’ has recovered from the injury he faced in his last bout. He is eyeing a return this year. Hence, given his star status, it is the Irishman who comes to mind for a title shot.

However, the UFC star is more interested in facing the number one pound-for-pound fighter Kamaru Usman for the 170lbs gold on his return. Hence, there is a lesser possibility of ‘The Notorious’ fighting in the 155lbs category.
