For some background into the matter, the Irish government has been facing protests over the last few months. It sparked due to a series of violent stabbings in Dublin, and s significant event was when a woman and three children were attacked by an assailant with a knife.

Soon, things escalated and McGregor took to his X account to let his opinion known. He recounted that they were at “war” among other things. The government did not take kindly to his remarks and launched an investigation into the MMA fighter. Now, he’s sent out another post thanking his mother for sending him to an all-Irish school.

He thanked his 63-year-old mother for his upbringing by retweeting a post that spoke about teaching Irish to children. Clearly, not doing anything to avoid more controversy, McGregor remains outspoken and hence, potentially in the government’s eyes.

Either way, does he really have the time to beef with the Irish government? Right now, McGregor is meant to prepare for his fight against Michael Chandler. He has already announced his final return. So it remains to be seen if he will end up fighting this time around.
