Conor McGregor has been training for a spectacular comeback. Post his UFC 264 leg injury, he had to take time away from the Octagon but was vocal about his desire to return to the welterweight division and fight for the title. While many doubted the Irish fighter would return to the sport, it seems he is not done yet and, in fact, might have taken a subtle dig at Kamaru Usman.

In a recent conversation, the welterweight king spoke about ‘The Notorious’. While he believed McGregor could still fight, he didn’t think the former double-champ could occupy a title again.

Kamaru Usman said ‘he’s done’. This could have rubbed Conor McGregor the wrong way.

The 22-6-0 record holder gave coach Owen Roddy birthday wishes on his Instagram stories. In one such story, a headline was clearly visible which read, “Conor is Capable of Knocking out any UFC Welterweight”.

This comes just a few days after Usman’s comments about the Irishman. Kamaru Usman and Conor McGregor have gone back and forth in the past and taken digs at each other. Hence, it wouldn’t be surprising to know that ‘Mystic Mac’ might be sending ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ a cryptic warning.

McGregor’s return to the UFC is still under a lot of speculation. While there is neither a date nor an opponent yet, his fans are excited about his potential return next year.

Is Kamaru Usman versus Conor McGregor a good fight?

Conor McGregor has previously fought in the welterweight division and found success too. However, it was initially in the featherweight and lightweight divisions where he excelled. After all, he held both titles simultaneously.

Unfortunately, he seems to have hit a rough patch, as his recent UFC fights did not pan out in his favor. Hence, a bout against Kamaru Usman, who has remained undefeated for a long time, could be a huge jump.

However, if Conor McGregor and Kamaru Usman were to fight, it would be a huge money fight. The MMA world would not want to miss such a bout.
